One of the most surprising storylines in Season 2 of Paradise was that of Jane Driscoll. In Season 1, we learned what she was capable of when she killed Billy Pace, but seeing her full transformation in Season 2 set the stage for a true villain in Paradise.
However, Gabriela supposedly killed Jane after Jane attacked the Dr. in her own home. But is Jane really dead? According to reports, that’s a hard yes, but we know that writers love to say one thing and then surprise us in another episode.
As a viewer, Jane’s death felt off for a few reasons. For one, she was too much of a badass to be killed by someone who is not like her. There were only two other people in The Bunker who could honestly say they had the skill set or ice veins to take out Jane, and Gabriela was not one of them.
Then we have the infamous shower scene at the end of the Season 2 finale. One second, Jane was in the shower, still bleeding out, and the next, the shower was empty. But the main reason I believe she’s still alive is that we didn’t get an end to her story.
In Paradise, all the main characters were given a backstory. Jane got hers, but it ended on a cliffhanger. Jane had a mentor, and at the end of “Jane,” she gifted her mentor a trophy of sorts, and that was all we got. We had no idea how Jane ended up in The Bunker or under the thumb of Sinatra.

That’s what makes her death a hard pill to swallow. There is still more to her story, and with Season 3 a go, she will be out for revenge. We would like to have Link as a villain, but he and Xavier are on the same page. The return of Jane will serve a good purpose, as this is a person that we’re familiar with seeing in a villain’s role, and one that Xavier is also familiar with.
Let’s also take into account that Robinson wants revenge, and with Gabriela almost taking Jane out, there’s no way Jane would not seek revenge for that. Xavier trusted Jane as well. And with a new Bunker in play, does Paradise really have time to introduce any new villains to a cast with their own agendas that’s been building for two seasons?
