It’s Week 7, which means we’re already almost at the half-way point of the season, which also means the conference races are boiling hot, creating must-watch football.
Many teams are at a crossroads, and are fighting to keep in the race, while other teams simply have their eye on the top spot.
Week 7 will be a busy week full of battles, but three games in particular will be games college football fans won’t want to miss.
No. 2 Georgia at No. 13 LSU, CBS, 3:30 p.m. ET
The Tigers will be home for Week 7, after a pretty hard loss to Florida, last week. They’ll have to fight an up-hill battle against the Bulldogs, who are looking to remain undefeated and have the top spot (where Alabama currently sits) in sight.
Georgia’s defensive line will need to be strong against Nick Brossette and the rush. Look for Georgia’s backup quarterback Justin Fields to keep Jake Fromm fresh and alert, which will keep LSU’s defense watchful.
No. 15 Wisconsin at No. 12 Michigan, ABC, 7:30 p.m. ET
Both teams in this contest are faced with a one-loss record, which makes the race that much more interesting. This potential elimination game in Ann Arbor could foretell who will make the playoffs, and who will be sent home.
Not only will this game be a huge marker for the Big Ten, but it will have a vintage feel that sits perfectly in mid-October, and mid-season. If Wisconsin has any hope to pull out a win against Michigan at home, they’ll need to make good use of Jonathan Taylor, who will be a good benchmark against a Michigan defense, throughout the game.
No. 7 Washington at No. 17 Oregon, ABC or ESPN, 3:30 p.m. ET
The Ducks are coming in rested from a week off, and they’ll need all the rest they can get against a hot Washington squad.
Oregon will need to come off strong and flip the upset if they plan on staying contenders in the Pac-12 North race, which will be hard against a solid bet, the Huskies.
The real spectacle will be the fight against the quarterback talent on field, with Oregon’s Justin Herbert and Washington’s Jake Browning. The real action will take place in the numbers for both outstanding arms.
