So the Red Sox are on a roll and they have a big matchup with Cleveland tonight in Cleveland. This series could be the ALDS preview for October if the Red Sox don’t choke. The Red Sox won the series this past weekend against the Yankees.
Rafael Devers at 20 years old is having a great start to his Red Sox Career since his call-up, batting a .350 average, 8 homeruns, and 16 RBI’s. Rafael Devers joined Babe Ruth has the only players to hit 3 straight homeruns against the Yankees before turning 21 years old. What a stat that is.
This weeks series is a big one really for both teams pretty much to see where they are at, and could have a playoff feel to it.Pitchiing tonight is Eduardo Rodriguez who is 4-3 with a 3.97 ERA. Going against Mike Clevinger who is 6-5 with an 3.75 ERA. Tommorow night it’s Doug Fister who is probably the worst starter the Red Sox have at the moment. Fister has a 2-6 record, with a 5.56 ERA. Going aganist Carlos Carrasco who has a 12-5 record with a 3.76 ERA.
Wednesday night the pitching matchup is Drew Pomeranz who has a 12-4 record with a 3.31 ERA. Going against Corey Kluber who has a 12-3 record with a 2.67 ERA. Thursday is Red Sox ace Chris Sale who is 14-5 with a 2.62 ERA. Going aganist Trevor Bauer who is 12-8 with a 4.50 ERA.
So my prediction for this series is the Red Sox take this series 3-1 with the loss coming tommorow night when Doug Fister pitches. It’s also another reunion for Terry Francona who probably was the best manager in Red Sox history in my opinion. The way he left town was wrong by the Red Sox part in 2011. He gave it back to the Red Sox last year in the Division Series, by sweeping them we’ll see what happens this year.
