NFLWelcome back to another week of BSB! Hopefully, we all have at least one team in the playoffs. As a quick recap of the rosters we reviewed throughout the season, only team 1A made the playoffs. Still, Team 1A made the semifinals last week with a dominating win. So, I will keep you up-to-date on that. As for now, we have to prepare for the semifinal matchups starting today, Thursday. So, let’s hop right into BSB Week 15!
Players to Start
On the surface, this selection may seem like picking low hanging fruit, but the first must start of BSB Week 15 is Lamar Jackson. Hear me out on this one. Yes, Jackson appears on the injury report with a quad injury. All indications, though, are that he will play. Also, Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network reports that Lamar will rest in Week 17 if the Ravens’ seed is secure. Not that Jackson needs motivation, but an extra week off before the divisional round will provide any extra player motivation. He will ball out and lead you to the fantasy football finals.
The second must start of BSB Week 15 is Saquon Barkley. Mr. Barkley has indeed had a rough go of it this season, but call it instinct. I think Saquon is due for a breakout week. The Dolphins gave up 20 plus points to seven other players this season, including Mark Ingram, Austin Ekeler, and Le’Veon Bell. I see no reason why Barkley cannot carve up this Dolphins defense. His current projection is 21.78 points, but I think he will surpass that.
The last must start for the week is Julian Edelman. Edelman has quietly been one of the best receivers in fantasy this season. To quantify that fact, Edelman ranks fourth among receivers this season with 233.58 points. Also, Julian is on a streak of nine games of scoring at least 14 points, which includes five matches of 20 plus points. With options limited for Brady and Josh Daniels, expect Edelman to have further stellar games.
Players to Sit
We know that Davante Adams’ season is nothing to celebrate much. In an injury-filled season for Adams, the Packers offense has not been stellar either. Davante continues to be bothered by that turf toe and therefore appears on the injury report as questionable. Furthermore, Chicago allows the ninth fewest receiver points. While I do think Adams will play, I do not believe he is worth the play unless you have to.
The next player to sit in BSB Week 15 is Dak Prescott. Listen, I think Prescott is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL. Still, talent does not equal production, especially when you account for the coaching of that talent. While not all of Dak’s shortcomings can fall on the coaching, Kellen Moore and Jason Garrett are not doing their quarterback any favors. The Rams defense is playing much better, and Wade Phillips will give Prescott coverages he cannot read. It’s best to leave Dak on your bench for this one.
Alvin Kamara is the last must sit player in BSB Week 15. Kamara has not had a terrible season, but it’s been far from outstanding. To drive this point home, what if I told you Alvin had not scored a touchdown since Week Three? He hasn’t — not a single stroll into the endzone eight games of action. The Colts give up the seventh-fewest points to running back in fantasy football. Outside of Austin Ekeler’s 40.40 point performance in Week One, only Derrick Henry has topped 20 points against the Colts. If you decide to start Kamara anyway, do so with extreme caution.
