Baltimore Ravens Week 12 Preview: vs New York Jets
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Baltimore Ravens keep on winning now. The Ravens have now won 4 consecutive games after beating the Cleveland Browns in Week 11 by the score of 23-16. The Ravens didn’t play the perfect match, but they did enough to squeak out a divisional win in Cleveland. They remain 1 game behind the Steelers for 1st place in the AFC North. And now the Ravens head back home for a matchup with the New York Jets, who are sitting at 2-8, at 1:00 PM, as the Ravens look to win five straight games.

This week’s 12 matchup features two AFC teams that see one team going one way while the team is going the other way between the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets. The Baltimore Ravens, since Lamar Jackson came back from injury, have won 4 straight games, after beating their division rival, the Cleveland Browns, 23-16. The New York Jets, on the other side, are coming off a 27-14 loss to their division rival, the New England Patriots, on Thursday night. This week’s game will see a return of former Ravens quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who started his career with the Ravens after getting drafted in the 6th round in 2011. This game is going to show how both of these teams are going to play come December time, and prepare for the future and beyond.

No team right now in the AFC has been playing much better football than the Baltimore Ravens. After starting the season 1-5, the Ravens have round up 4 consecutive wins, in those 4 games they won, they have held the opponents to under 20 points in all of those games. The teams they held to under 20 points are the Bears, Dolphins, Vikings, and the Browns. And, when the season gets into late November and early December, the Ravens always play their best in this part of the season. Lamar Jackson being back has been a big plus for the Ravens, and with the defense playing much better since Week 8, and with Derrick Henry continuing to run the ball, this game could be another game where Derrick Henry runs for 100 yards on the ground. And, the Ravens will look to continue their path towards a playoff run and berth in the AFC.

The New York Jets, on the other hand, have been having a dismal season up to this point. The Jets are looking at the future in 2026, as they traded away 2 big pieces on defense, Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, at the trade deadline, and with things going this season, this team is looking at another last-place finish in the AFC East and a potential top 5 pick in the NFL draft in April. Tyrod Taylor will be getting the start after Justin Fields is benched for his recent performances on the field, and the Jets are moving forward with Tyrod Taylor as their quarterback as the Jets look to steer their ship in the right direction for the rest of the season, and get ready for 2026 and beyond. The Jets are a team that, like the Browns, has a lot of question marks. Like, who will be the quarterback in 2026? And, will Aaron Glenn be a one-and-done head coach? But one thing is for sure that the Jets will have a total of five 1st round picks over the next two years, where they could get their next franchise quarterback and a head coach who will try and lead the Jets to the postseason, something they haven’t done since 2010.

The Ravens in this game will need to take advantage of a depleted football team of the New York Jets. They will need to have a big day from Derrick Henry, and Lamar Jackson to have a vintage performance from him. And to make sure that the Offensive line holds its end of the bargain by keeping Lamar Jackson upright, and not get sacked by one player like how Myles Garrett did against the Ravens last Sunday. Also, the Ravens defense will most likely have a day where they will hold their opponent to under 20 points for the 5th consecutive game. And, when looking at the Jets, the Ravens could be in for a field day against a struggling Jets team, and I feel that the Ravens will dominate against the Jets, get their 5th straight win, and move above 500 for the 1st time this season.

Prediction: Jets 14 Ravens 37
