The Detroit Lions have a star QB but If you let him tell it, you’ll never know. Jared Goff has turned things around while in Detroit when many figured he was sent there to ride out his career in obscurity. Well, think again.
For the fans of the Los Angeles Rams, they’re happy with the results from the trade but are they better off without Goff? The Lions sure are thankful. While they haven’t won a Super Bowl since the big trade like the Rams, Goff has turned this franchise around. But once again, you’ll never know it from him.
While all the praise goes to QBs suck as Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson, Goff belongs in the conversation. No, he doesn’t have the rings like Mahomes or the quick feet like Hurts and Jackson but he does have the smarts to play the most important position in sports.
Since arriving in Detroit, Jared Goff has passed for 9800+ yards, 60+ TDs, and 20 INTS while completing 66 percent of his passes. He’s the real deal. If given the chance, he could be the starter for way more than a handful of teams out there. And best believe, that’s something the Detroit Lions know.
Last season, the Lions made a run, and guess who was leading the charge. The offense wasn’t Eagles potent, but it was potent enough to have them in playoff contention. It was the other side of the ball that dragged this team down. Now, with the defense playing above average, the Lions are sitting near the top of the NFC this season with more than just making the playoffs as a goal. They want to win.
Can The Detroit Lions Win A Title With Jared Goff
For Goff, he’s just happy to be where he’s wanted. His time with the Rams was up and down as can be. He was the darling of the franchisee for the first two seasons then became the poster boy for their struggles until the Stafford trade happened. Imagine leaving a team and then watching the guy they traded you away for lead them to a championship. That had to sting.
Now, the Rams are a shell of that Championship team, it’s Goff and his upstart Lions ready to make the Rams sit back and watch. If there was ever a player who deserved the spotlight, it’s Jared Goff. There is an insane amount of pressure that comes with being a top pick. Not just being No.1 but to be labeled a savior and then drafted as a QB. Goff fell, then rose, then fell again, only to rise once more.
There are plenty of superstars in the NFL and more than a handful of them will gladly let you know that. But Goff, he’s just quiet about it all. Does his job, walks off the felid, and is back at it a week later. How can you not respect that?
