Matt Patricia Is No Longer With The Patriots

Bill Belichick deserves 100 percent blame for bringing Matt Patricia back after he got fired from the Lions. Making him sit upstairs in 2021 and be like an assistant to Bill just because he was still getting paid by the Lions was wrong. Then keeping him on the staff after McDaniels went to the Raiders and making Patricia OC because he was getting paid by the Lions was a fireable offense. The guy has no business running that offense last year and set your second-year quarterback back a season. All because Matt Patricia was getting paid by another team. Disgraceful.

The Reason Why Matt Patricia Isn’t With The Patriots

So now that Matt Patricia is no longer getting paid by the Lions the Patriots want nothing to do with him. Matt Patricia interviewed for the Defensive Coordinator job last week for the Broncos. But head coach Sean Payton also said at the scouting combine today that there could be an opening for Patricia on the Broncos staff. If you’re a Patriots fan you should be pissed at Bill.

“I would say it’s a little early to answer that,” Payton told reporters at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine, when asked if there was an alternative role for Patricia on the staff.He and I are gonna talk this week and wouldn’t rule that out, though. … If that possibly came to fruition, it would be for a few things. I’d certainly want to talk to Vance and our defensive coaches. But I know Matt well enough to know how smart he is and what he can contribute. So, we’ll see.”

Bill Belichick Put Patricia and Judge In A Non-Winnable Position Last year

If Bill Belichick was any other head coach he would be fired for doing what he did last off-season. All that talk from him last off-season saying putting Matt Patricia and Judge in the positions was best for the team was 100 percent bullshit. The only reason he did that was that it was what was best for Bill Belichick and nobody else.

He didn’t have to pay Judge either because he was and still is getting paid by the Giants after they fired him for being a dumpster fire. Notice how Judge is still employed with the team because it’s what is best for Bill. Once Judge isn’t getting paid by the Giants anymore his ass will be out the door too in New England.

Now that all goes back to failing Mac Jones in his second year for no reason other than Bill being selfish. There is no excuse for doing what Belichick did last off-season he humiliated Mac Jones and had people chanting for Bailey Zappe on Monday night football.

Not only did Bill put Mac in a bad light he also did put Patricia and Judge in a bad light too. You had three guys in Mac’s headset calling a play-in. Bill, Matt Patricia, and Judge. No wonder Mac was waving them off in the Cardinals game. You had two defensive guys and a special teams coach saying a play call in his headset.

Thank God Robert Kraft has stepped in a little over the years and put his foot down. He owns the team, not Bill. It started after Ernie Adams retired and Kraft said they would be more collaborative with the draft process. Then Kraft made sure he selected Mac Jones at 15 in the 2021 draft after the Cam Newton fiasco.

Now after last year’s mess up by Bill Belichick Kraft made sure Belichick hired Bill O’Brien and now that the Lions are done paying Patricia gets rid of him. It’s really unbelievable how the way Bill handles things. Any success with the Patriots in 2023 on offense will be because of Kraft Bill O’Brien and Mac Jones. Bill Belichick should have zero to do with that side of the ball.
