Moral victory mode is on for the Patriots. The Patriots went toe to toe with the Green Bay Packers Sunday to lose in overtime. The storyline’s of the day was the defense played well, Matthew Judon was the player of the game. Bailey Zappe had to come in for Brian Hoyer after he suffered a concussion early in the game. Aaron Rodgers looked uninterested in being in that game and he looked like he’d rather be anywhere else but playing.
Patriots win Sunday with Mac Jones at quarterback
Let’s set the record straight that the Zappe throw to DeVante Parker was the delay of the game. The clock hit zero and Zappe waited a good two seconds before the play was snapped. He did come in and hold the game down, but he wasn’t out of this world good. People think every time another quarterback replaces the starter, they think it’s the second coming of Tom Brady. There will never be another Tom Brady in our lifetime. If Mac Jones had played in the game, they wouldn’t have been conservative in overtime when the Patriots had the ball at the 50. Mac could’ve thrown the ball 20 yards to put Nick Folk in field goal range to win the game.
Bailey Zappe didn’t have great spin on the ball and threw a complete lob to Nelson Agholor. If I had the choice between Hoyer and Zappe on Sunday against the Lions, I’d probably choose Zappe because anybody should be able to beat the Lions. Hoyer will probably be in concussion protocol again anyway. I’m sure we will get the day-by-day quotes again from Bill Belichick on Mac’s ankle.
Belichick thought Zappe played well on Sunday despite coming in on very short notice.
Bill Belichick loves himself some Aaron Rodgers, he praised him on Sunday after the game saying
I thought overall there were positives to take away from this game but please I don’t want to hear Mac Jones might lose his job over Bailey Zappe. That’s ridiculous. Zappe again was lucky no delay of game was called on the touchdown to Parker. Also, if he was anything like a quarterback that was ready to win the game in overtime, he would’ve taken his chances to get into field goal range. Also, the play calling could’ve been better. Take a chance what do you have to lose your in Green Bay facing Aaron Rodgers with a chance to go 2-2. Instead, we are talking about moral victories and how Zappe is going to take over for Mac Jones.
