The New York Jets had nothing to play for on Sunday. They had no reason to travel to Los Angeles and beat the,9-4 Rams. All the Jets had to do was keep losing and they would have gotten the first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Trevor Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect to come out of college since John Elway. The Jets cannot even win correctly. They lost their franchise quarterback by winning a meaningless game.
5 Things We learned About Week 6 In The NFL:
5) Here comes the Bears.
The Chicago Bears defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 33-27. Over the past three weeks Chicago has scored 30, 36 and 33 points. The Bears are 7-7 and have an outside shot of making the playoffs. They face off against the 1-13 Jaguars next week and end the season against the Green Bay Packers.
4) Titans are starting to roll again.
The Tennessee Titans dominated the Detroit Lions, 46-25. Derrick Henry had 24 carries for 147 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Tannehill threw for 3 touchdowns as well. In 3 of their last 4 games, they have scored over 40 points. When this team controls the line of scrimmage and plays from a lead, they are impossible to beat.
3) Former Oklahoma quarterbacks rise in Arizona.
The Arizona Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Eagles,33-26. Kyler Murray threw for 406 yards and had 4 total touchdowns. Jalen Hurts threw for 338 yards, rushed for 63 yards, and had three touchdown passes. Both quarterbacks played for Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma. Murray and Hurts looked great. Hurts appears to be the new franchise quarterback in Philadelphia and Murray could make the Pro-Bowl.
2) Is Tampa Bay an elite team?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a plethora of offensive and defensive talent. The Bucs were down 17-0 at halftime before outscoring the Falcons, 31-10 in the 2nd half. Tampa defeated Atlanta, 31-27. This team sleepwalks through quarters and games. They have enough talent to make a deep playoff run but they do not always play that way.
1) Are the Browns the best team in their division?
Without Odell Beckham Jr, Baker Mayfield has a passer rating of over 100. With Beckham in the lineup, his passer rating was in the mid 80s. The Browns are very well coached and Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are the best running back tandem in the NFL. The Browns will make the post-season for the first time since 2002. No one wants to play them in the playoffs and Kevin Stefanski should win Coach of the Year.
