5 Things We Learned About Week 9 In The NFL:
5) The Chargers doing what the Chargers do:
Every year the LA Chargers go on a 2-3 game streak where they look like the best team in the NFL. That happened Sunday. The Chargers dominated the Green Bay Packers, 26-11. The Chargers held Aaron Rodgers to 161 passing yards. LA had 159 rushing yards and dominated the time of possession, 35:51-24:09. We will know more about this team over the next two weeks, they play at Oakland and home to Kansas City.
4) Deshaun Watson is an elite quarterback:
The Houston Texans defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars, 26-3 on Sunday. Watson was 22-28, with 2 touchdown passes. Watson is completing 69% of his passes, has a QB rating of 105.7 and has 21 total touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. The Texans are 6-3 and they should win their division for the 4th time in 5 years. No defensive coordinator wants to face Watson in the post-season.
3) The Chiefs are surviving without Patrick Mahomes:
Two weeks ago Kansas City lost to the Packers, 31-24. On Sunday, they upset the Vikings 26-23. Damien Williams rushed for 125 yards and Tyreek Hill had 140 receiving yards. This offense put up 46 points in two weeks, without Mahomes, against two very good defenses. The AFC needs to be very weary of the Chiefs. They are a legitimate threat to win the Super Bowl.
2) Russell Wilson is the MVP:
The Seattle Seahawks beat the Tampa Bay Bucs in overtime 40-34. Russell Wilson became the 7th player in NFL history to have 3 games with 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Wilson is having one of the best seasons in the history of the NFL. He is completing 68% of his passes, 22 passing touchdown passes, and only 1 interception. His QB rating is 118.2. With Josh Gordon now in their lineup, this team could win the Super Bowl.
1) The Patriots and Packers are fine:
The Patriots lost, 37-20 to the Baltimore Ravens and the Green Bay Packers were dominated by the LA Chargers,26-11. Both teams looked horrible and fans of each fan bases are in total panic mode. The Patriots get better in November, December and January. The Packers should win their division. Both teams will be fine. To quote Aaron Rodgers from a few years ago, fans need to…
Bonus Coverage:
Russell Wilson and Tyler Lockett are the best quarterback, wide receiver combo in the NFL.
The Ravens could be the first team in the history of the NFL to average 200 rushing and passing yards per game. They are 11-0 in primetime since 2011. John Harbaugh is now 10-2 off a bye week.
The Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets Sunday, 26-18. The Dolphins are 1-7, they are tanking. The Jets are 1-7, they are playing to win. Adam Gase should have not only been fired after the loss to Miami, they should have gave him a bus ticket instead of a plane ticket back home.
Carson Wentz has a TD pass in 12 straight games. That is the longest active streak for any NFL QB.The Formula in Philadelphia is simple. When the team runs the ball they win. In 6 of his last 7 games, Carson Wentz, has thrown for less than 260 yards.
Pat Shurmur is 7-18 as the New York Giants head coach
Daniel Jones and Jamies Winston have 16 turnovers. That is the most in the NFL.
