The New York Jets have been in rebuilding mode since they won a Super Bowl in 1969. In 2015, the Jets selected Leonard Williams with the #6 overall pick. They have agreed to trade Williams to the Giants for a 2020 third-round pick and a 2021 fifth-round pick. The fifth-round pick will become a fourth-rounder if the Giants extend Williams’s contract. If anyone thinks the picks coming back will be impact players for “Gang Green” they haven’t been paying attention. In every way, this organization is dysfunctional and Adam Gase is a terrible coach. The Jets won’t win 5 games this season.
5 Things we learned about week 8 in the NFL:
5) Cooper Kupp is the MVP of the Rams:
The LA Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 24-10. Jared Goff threw for 372 yards. Cooper Kupp had 7 catches for 220 yards. Kupp already has 58 receptions on the season with 5 touchdowns and 792 receiving yards. He is the most valuable player on the Rams and he is one of the best WR in the NFL. He is not only Goff’s security blanket on 3rd downs but he can beat any defender going deep. As long as he is healthy the Rams have a shot to win the rest of their games.
4) Who are the Eagles?:
Philadelphia went into Buffalo, New York and dominated the Bills 31-13. In three of their four wins they have beaten the Lions at home and the Packers and Bills on the road. The Eagles rushed for 218 yards against a very good defense. If Philadelphia can continue to dominate the running game, they could win the NFC East.
3) Matt LaFleuer and Aaron Rodgers make a great team:
The Packers won Sunday night,31-24, against the Kansas City Chiefs. This offense is clicking on all cylinders. Rodgers threw for 305 yards and 3 touchdowns. 8 offense players caught a pass for Green Bay. Aaron Jones had 7 catches for 159 yards. This team is still learning how to win with their new players. Coach LaFluer could lead this team to the Super Bowl.
2) The Miami Dolphins are the worst organization in the NFL:
In 1972, the Dolphins went had a record of 14-0, and they won the Super Bowl. Don Shula is considered to be one of the greatest coaches of all-time. Because of Shula’s success, the Dolphins keep getting a pass on how historically bad they are. Miami has had 2 winning seasons since 2006. After losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 27-14 on Monday night, Miami is now 0-7. Since Dan Marino retired in 2000, the organization has had 21 starting quarterbacks and they haven’t had a Pro-Bowl QB since 1995. This team has become the laughing stock of the NFL. Does anyone have confidence they will make the right moves this off-season?
