Deiveson Figueiredo and Alex Perez will step into the Octagon for the main event at UFC 255.
Figueiredo was supposed to fight Coby Garbrandt, but the former bantamweight champion tore a bicep.
As a result of this injury, Alex Perez moved up from fighting Brandon Moreno on the undercard right into the main event.
The 32-year-old Figueiredo has been active in recent history, fighting five times since March of 2019.
He was in back-to-back championship clashes with Joseph Benavidez, and Figueiredo won both times.
Alex Perez’s only defeat since 2016 came against Joseph Benavidez and his last fight was an impressive victory over Jussier Formiga.
Jussier Formiga is the only man who has ever defeated Deiveson Figueiredo.
It promises to be an exciting night and Perez will be looking to make the most of this huge opportunity.
But Deus da Guerra (The God of War), Deveison Figueredo does not view Alex Perez as any kind of threat to him.
Meanwhile the co-main event Valentina Shevchenko goes against Jennifer Maia.
Valentina Shevchenko has dominated the flyweight division, winning her fights.
Her only UFC losses have come in fights against Amanda Nunes.
The Lioness is the greatest female fighter in UFC history.
Maia’s most recent win was over Joanne Calderwood, a woman who was just remaining busy.
Nevertheless Jennifer Maia capitalized on the opportunity and because of it, she moved to the No. 1 contender slot.
