The Takeaway: The Los Angeles Chargers Loss to the New York Giants

A Frustrating Sunday

It was Sunday was a frustrating day for me as a Chargers fan. With the Chargers losing to the Giants 21-18, the once potent offensive juggernaut was stymied by injuries and poor quarterback play. Losing Joe Alt early in the game against a very dynamic but young Giants defensive line gave the Chargers injury riddled offensive line nightmares that they probably won’t get over for a long time. Rookie Quarterback Jaxson Dart did just enough to lead the Giants on offense to propel them to their first victory of the season. So how do the Chargers fix this? So What’s my the biggest takeaway from this loss?

The Walls are Falling Down

My biggest takeaway from this loss, at least from social media is the walls are falling down, and it’s time to push the panic button! So, in the words of the legendary Lee Corso, “Not so fast, my friend!” Yes, the Chargers OL is banged up, Herbert was sacked 2 times and hit 12 times. But in reality, it should’ve been worse! I should point the blame at specific players, however Twitter has already done its job. These guys are professional athletes as well. They don’t like being embarrassed out there. I have full confidence in this coaching staff going forward that the line will be built back up and the walls will come back up once again.

How will they do this, you may ask? It’s simple, RUN THE BALL! We went into this season thinking this would be a run first offense because the Chargers spent a high pick on Omarion Hampton, who by the way absolutely balled out on Sunday, having his first 100 yard rushing game of his career. Tout the rock and hit them with play action over the top. Simple football, just like Jim has done everywhere else.

It was a trap!

In conclusion, the Chargers fell victim to a trap game in New York, high tailing it in the end. They will lick their wounds as they head home to face the Washington Commanders. I believe that as the Chargers recalibrate the offense and stick to the defense they have been playing. They will be back in the win, column, Sunday. #BoltUp

Shoutout my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from whom all this is possible!
