The Super Bowl Door Is Wide Open For The Patriots

It really can’t get any easier for the Patriots to get to the Super Bowl. Bo Nix getting hurt on the second-to-last play of the Bills game hurts them so bad. Now, Jarrett Stidham, the former Patriots backup, will start the AFC Championship game on Sunday. It’s all coming up Patriots, whether people want to believe that or not. They played a bad Chargers offensive line, a Texans team without Nico Collins and Stroud, who wanted to be anywhere but in Cold Foxborough, and now will play Jarrett Stidham in the AFC Championship game. If that doesn’t say it’s all coming up Patriots, I don’t know what does.

The Patriots Can Beat and Should Beat Denver

The Patriots are 5.5-point favorites on Sunday. They were underdogs with Bo Nix starting. Stidham is the only backup quarterback who hasn’t thrown a pass in the last two years. That’s insane. It looks like Stidham is just happy to be playing in the game and doesn’t care about the outcome.

“I think what I always go back to — in any game, regular season, preseason, the AFC Championship — it’s still the same game,” Stidham said. “Obviously, there are implications and winner advances, all that kind of stuff, but at the end of the day, it’s still football. That’s how I view it. I’m not treating it any differently. I’m not treating my preparation any differently. I’m just going to go out there and play and be myself. I think that’s the biggest thing. I’m not going to try to be somebody that I’m not. I know how I can play, and I know the kind of guys I have around me and the kind of team that we have. So, we all just have to play within ourselves.”

Yeah, it’s just a game to advance to the Super Bowl, no big deal. This is the same guy who missed off-season workouts in 2020, and Belichick didn’t like that because he went to a wedding and they signed Cam Newton. Stidham was in awe of Cam Newton and didn’t want to compete for the job. Kinda like now, he just thinks the game of football is a job and whatever happens happens.

Mike Vrabel is going to have the Patriots ready to go and he said Wednesday they have to limit the turnovers. I think if they can score two or three touchdowns they’ll win I think Drake Maye even though he hasn’t been great the last two games when they needed him to deliver in the biggest moments he came through. I expect the same on Sunday.

Same way I do all the time. We have to be able to not get careless with the football. We can’t be reckless. And a lot of it is operation. We had two turnovers where we all weren’t on the same page. And not only is it …that’s …you could have a negative play if you don’t have everybody on the same page. But even worse, you lose the football. Or if you don’t have somebody on the same page and they blitz, somebody gets hurt. Those are the things we talk about when we’re not on the same page so I think the operation is going to be critical.”

The Patriots should beat the Broncos on Sunday. Stidham and that offense can’t score enough points to win.
