The Padres are Embarrassing

I can’t think of one of the most embarrassing pathetic teams in baseball history after spending millions on talent than the San Diego Padres. The only time this team has been above .500 was in the middle of May a whole three months ago. They are also 0-11 in extra innings games, 6-22 in one-run games, and are a complete dumpster fire. You can thank the morons and that dumb song during the NLCS last year against the Phillies. You also can thank the players for actually quitting on the season and really haven’t played as a team since spring training.

Here’s what Melvin said after the Brewers series

There’s 30 games left. There’s really no reason to even look at the standings at this point in time,” manager Bob Melvin told reporters Sunday after the Padres were swept in Milwaukee for the first time in 20 years. “It’s just keep playing. Keep playing and hope something breaks that we haven’t been able to do basically the entire season.

Starting the day after the season Melvin needs to go. I don’t care that he took that team to the NLCS last year he is the most boring manager I’ve ever seen. He has zero connection in that locker room and has lost them. It feels like the players don’t want to play for him either. Don’t even bother watching anymore the Padres season is over and you have to start thinking about 2024.

First I would fire Melvin and go hire Alex Cora after he gets fired from Boston. Cora is the type of manager this team needs who will bring a younger vibe to the clubhouse. He knows how to win a championship and also has connections with Xander Bogaerts. I think he would fit really well as the manager of the Padres a team ready to win now.

Second I would resign Blake Snell don’t let him walk you need him in the rotation. Let Juan Soto go and get Shohei Ohtani I know he tore his UCL but he wants to play on the West Coast and you don’t want him going on the Dodgers.

The Padres need more bullpen help besides Nick Martinez and Josh Hader. Rich Hill will probably be gone what a waste that pick up was at the deadline. He sucks.

This amazing quote from Juan Soto in early August after a loss in Seattle saying players have legit quit when talking about their inconsistent games this season.

We’ve got to play as a team. We’ve got to go out there grind every day. Grind every at-bat. … It’s been really inconsistent. Some days we do, some days we don’t. We gotta do it every day. Days like this series, we just give up. Like literally, we just give up instead of keep grinding, keep pushing. We’ve got to forget about yesterday and keep moving.”

So the series they just had against the Cardinals they just quit too. So why bother watching the 4 weeks of the season? Why bother going to the games? The players don’t care they are getting paid if they win or lose. The players know they aren’t going to the playoffs so just pack it in and get ready for the off-season. What a pathetic attitude and season for the 2023 San Diego Padres.
