The Boston Celtics responded in game 4 with a blowout victory over the Miami Heat (102-82) and tied the series up 2-2.
Unlike game 3 Boston came out like a team that wanted to win and get back in this series.
Jayson Tatum set the tone for his Boston Celtics because in game 3 Tatum only scored 10 points while shooting (3-14) from the field. Tatum also shot (1-7) from the three-point range.
Tatum knew coming into the game he let his team down in game 3 so he had to redeem himself.
Tatum finished the game with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. If the Boston Celtics want to win this series, they’re going to need their best player to play like the best player in this series.
The Celtics supporting cast came along and played their part in this ball game. Robert Williams and Jayson Brown both scored 12 points.
Derrick White got the start for the Celtics, and he delivered for his team. He finished the game with 13 points, but he set the tone for the Celtics. Al Horford played big in last night’s game. He grabbed 13 rebounds and his veteran leadership is always a plus for Boston.
Both the Celtics and Heat came into game 4 without key players for their teams. The Celtics were without Marcus Smart due to a sprained ankle he stuffed in game 3.
For the Heat, they were without their six-man-of-the-year Tyler Herro due to a groin injury.
This series has been full of injuries, and it seems like the healthier team will be the team that will represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA finals.
Despite the series being tied (2-2). Every game has been one-sided for the winning team. Coming into this series nobody would have thought that these games would be so lopsided.
The Miami Heat should be embarrassed after a poor performance in game 4. Miami in the first quarter missed their first 14 field goals in the ball game.
Miami only scored 11 points in the first quarter, and they pretty much lost the game in the first half of this ball game. In game 3 the Heat came out aggressive and they set the tone from the jump.
The Heat rallied and won game 3 despite Jimmy Butler being out the second half of game 3. Coming into game 4 it seemed like Miami would come out and play like a team that wanted to take a commanding lead (3-1) lead in this series.
However, Miami played like a team that had no heart. Outside of Victor Oladipo scoring 18 points and getting the start in last night’s game. The Heat didn’t show up and it seems like something is wrong with Jimmy Butler.
Butler only managed to score 6 points while shooting (3-14) from the field. If the Heat wants any chance at winning this series, they’re going to need Butler to play like he’s been playing throughout these playoffs.
Butler scored 41 points in game 1 and followed game 2 with 29 points. In games 3 & 4 Butler is only averaging 7 points per game.
Butler went from playing like one of the best players remaining in these playoffs to playing like an absolute no-show.
His play has been unacceptable, and he has to be better in game 5. Miami does have a home-court advantage and they need to protect their home court.
Unlike the Miami Heat, the Boston Celtics don’t have home-court advantage and they have to win a game on the road if they want to beat Miami and advance to the NBA finals.
When the series is tied (2-2) the winner of game 5 goes on to win the series 82 percent of the time.
Game 5 will be Wednesday at 8:30 P.M. Eastern time.
Will the Celtics steal Game 5, or will the Heat defend home court?
