As the nation’s largest first responder and military hockey tournament, this event is a powerful platform for connection. They raised nearly $450,000 this year for numerous charities and in support of the well-being of first responders, military members, and their families.
Looking towards the future, Healing Heroes Foundation co-directors EJ & Jaime Nicholas have revealed the following:
Our initiatives are expanding!
While we will continue to offer Wellness Support Grants (see here for more info) and charitable support (after this year’s tournament, we’ll be have invested nearly $3.5 million since 2016, see here for more info), we are also excited to announce that we will be offering Equine-Assisted Recovery groups (free for first responders, veterans, and their families) along with community‑based programs that foster connection, purpose, and proactive well‑being.
We are also excited to officially announce our partnership with Guardian’s Cup (@guardians_cup). Guardian’s Cup remains the proud host and driving force behind its tournament, with Healing Heroes Foundation serving as the official Host Partner to help strengthen operations, expand impact, and further our shared commitment to first responder and military well-being. This partnership is about more than hockey. It reflects a shared vision of connecting first responder and military hockey communities while promoting mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and peer support.
