We can all agree this is one of the best seasons of The Bachelor we have had in YEARS, I haven’t been this invested in a long time and they keep bringing the heat. So this week we got to hometowns as Kelsey A, Rachel, Maria, and Daisy brought Joey home to meet the families and see if what they have is real or not. This was a homerun from start to finish each of these ladies comes from people who love them and want the best for them, something not everyone can say sadly. For Joey, the pressure was on to handle the FBI-level questioning he was going to receive. I felt like he handled it like a pro as he has most things this season, honest and thoughtful.
Kelsey A was up first and can I just say she is too cute when Joey popped up around the corner her face lit up like mine when happy hour starts. They just seem to be a great match and the energy is cool. I loved how Joey recognized this would be hard for Kelsey without having her mom around, knowing butterflies and what they mean to her so he pointed them out. He also asked her how she was doing again it is his attention to detail that I love my man doesn’t seem to miss. Her family was awesome I LOVED her dad he was so matter of fact and asked the tough questions and got the answers he wanted to hear. Nice touch in this digital age to bust out a photo album that had everyone tearing up. Joey was all class in this visit and clammed down the nerves people had knowing he had 3 other women to visit. Her dad is fine and should be a strong contender for the Golden Bachelor. And I would NOT let this article end without saying that Kelsey’s outfit was FIRE, did they plan on matching?
I was all geeked out for some amazing views from Hawaii but it makes sense that instead of packing up the whole show things with Rachel’s family went down in California. Off the break, Rachel did what I try to do with my girlfriends before they meet the fam, set them up for success! Explaining to him what to call her parents and the Pagmamano a very important custom for people who are Filipino as a sign of respect. He nailed it and her mom was all about it. I kind of wished in between all the tears and saying that Rachel was hurt in the past we got some more details on what went down. Again what a family! The games and love for each other I know this is a TV show, but damn it they got me hook, line, and sinker with it. Her mom and dad pulled no punches with Joey and you have to respect that. Neither, one of them was falling over to confess their love for Joey, it was a more wait-and-see approach. They don’t want to see Rachel hurt again and told her to protect her heart in this process.
Daisy has an unfair advantage when things start in the middle of a Christmas tree farm, I mean hot cocoa stands and all those holiday vibes come on now. And then her squad pulled up to meet her and Joey which was cool you could truly see how happy she was and so did everyone else. Like a scene from a Hallmark movie, everyone from grandma to grandpa was at her parent’s house. Almost shed a tear when she paused and realized that was the first time in a long time she heard her brother’s voice. Daisy’s mom and dad both said shoot your shot and go all in with this whole thing. She did and told Joey how she felt without skipping a beat. More on that later. Overall a cool visit.
Oh, Maria what it could have been. From the start, things seem off when the two of them meet on the boat and Joey wants to talk about last week when she almost quit. She explained herself but it didn’t seem to change the vibe plus saying she has never taken a boy home didn’t boost our boys confidence. Her father was fun his world is Maria and he wants the best for her and will kill a man who hurts his little girl. He gives his blessing and tells Maria to let it go and see where things lead. Epic levels of cheesy with the home movie setup outside and the family peeking out the window. Everyone said they loved Joey or were falling in love with him. Our girl hit him with the high school “I appreciate you” I was not alone when I screamed at the TV WHAT ARE YOU DOING GIRL??? And then to realize at the rose ceremony she fumbled it and tried for a hail mary was so hard to watch. Meanwhile, she went home in style that purple dress was made for her! So we are down to 3 ladies left here is how I stack them up heading into next week episode of The Bachelor.
- Kelsey A- I just think these two are IT
- Diasy- Will the fact she expressed her feelings and make Joey like her more now?
- Rachel- Super solid and level-headed.
Until next time Bachelor Nation I appreciate you lol!
