Patriots Narrowly escape Win Over the Jets

The Patriots beat the Jets today on a wild ending and that’s great. However, that game was a complete dud for three quarters. The Jets couldn’t do anything and Zach Wilson throws nothing but lob passes. And the Patriots couldn’t get in into the endzone after driving the ball downfield numerous times today. The defense and special teams came to play, and the offense looks the same it has been looking all season. Offensive line has issues protecting Jones, the play calling is terrible and is the reason for the regression this season of Mac Jones.

Thank God that game didn’t go into overtime. You can also be thankful the Jets messed up on the run back by Marcus Jones to win the game for the Patriots today. The way that game was going who ever scored next was going to win cause neither team could get the ball in the endzone. Now, the Patriots must turn the page quickly to Minnesota on Thursday night. Minnestoa is currently getting their butts kicked by Dallas, but I don’t see the Patriots scoring over 30 points on Thursday like Dallas is today. New England couldn’t even score more than 3 points today against the Jets.

Let me just say this on Mac Jones he threw for 254 yards today but the guy is getting killed in the pocket. He did good moving the ball downfield however you have to score more than three points if you’re going to win football games. Great they’re 6-4 but I would bet money buy next Friday December 2nd the Patriots will be 6-6. Their defense can contain Kirk Cousins and they can double team Justin Jefferson. If they do that the Patriots have a shot at a win on Thanksgiving. But I don’t see it because the Patriots would have to score more points on offense. They don’t have the coaching to do that. Bill Belichick spoke after the game today against the Jets

Well, great team win for us today. The Jets are tough, like they always are. We knew it was going to – expected this kind of a game. They’re the best fourth quarter team in football. We knew it was going to be a battle there all the way to the end. Great ending there with the punt return. We came close on a couple of punt rushes, blocked a punt last week, so a combination of rushing and returning is a good weapon to have. Obviously a big day for us defensively, 100 yards total offense. That’s a great job by the staff, the players and all the units that played, running game, passing game, pass rush, coverage, third down. We played well on defense, as did the Jets. We moved the ball. We had 300 yards of offense but only three points. So did a poor job of finishing our drives, getting the ball in good field position into scoring range or getting the ball in the red area into the end zone. We’ve got to find a way to do that better, but it’s good to do it from a win. Quick turnaround here, get ready for Minnesota, and get ready to go out there and go on Thursday night.

So how can the Patriots improve in the redzone and score touchdowns? By limiting mistakes to zero and not having costly penalties pushing them back. I hope Thursday night’s game isn’t a dud like this one was and the Patriots score more points on offense. It’s the end of November and that offense is playing like it’s the beginning of September. It’s a fact they aren’t going to beat good teams not scoring touchdowns on offense. Because the good teams will score more and the defense can only do so much.
