Mac Jones Needs A Number One Receiver

Mac Jones Needs A Number One Receiver

Put Tua on the Patriots with Mac’s receivers do you know what results you’d get? The exact same that Mac gets. If Mac was in Miami with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle the results would be the same and maybe better than Tua gets. Last night proved the Patriots don’t have enough talent around Mac for him to excel. JuJu Smith-Schuster didn’t show up into the game till the fourth quarter down 17-3! Demario Douglas wasn’t seen after he fumbled in the first half. Elliot was seen at the bare minimum.

Isn’t JuJu supposed to be the number-one receiver? What’s he doing not getting the ball till very late into the game? Does he not get the offense? Another week Smith-Schuster isn’t on the final drive of the game with a chance to tie it. What are we doing here? If you can’t trust Smith-Schuster on the final drive of games he shouldn’t be on the team period.

Mac Jones needs an elite pass catcher like other great quarterbacks have

Every elite quarterback has at least one top receiver or pass catcher.  Josh Allen has Stefon Diggs, Tua has Tyreek Hill, Patrick Mahomes has Travis Kelce, what does Mac Jones have? A bunch of number three receivers and pass catchers who can’t get open or aren’t on the field at the most crucial time at the end of the game.

Does Belichick want the offense to suck? His press conference last night after the game was shockingly positive. Belichick was asked why Douglas wasn’t on the field after the fumble.  Here was his answer

Look, we had a lot of production on offense. [DeVante] Parker had a good day. [Mike] Gesicki had a good day. Hunter [Henry] had a good day, JuJu [Smith-Schuster], KB [Kendrick Bourne]. So, you know, a lot of good players. Can’t play everybody.

That quote tells me Belichick has lost it. A lot of production on offense? What is he watching?

They had another slow start, Kendrick Bourne, and DeVante Parker are trying to be number-one receivers when they aren’t. JuJu Smith-Schuster is irrelevant until the fourth quarter then not out there during the final drive. How can Belichick say the offense had a lot of production last night? They have more questions than answers on offense.

You had no name Brock Purdy seventh-round pick lighting it up with the 49ers last season. Why? Because he’s throwing to Deebo Samuel, Brandon Ayuik, and George Kittle. Put Purdy on the Patriots offense and you know what results he would get? What Mac gets.

Put Mac Jones on the 49ers playing with that talent he’d be elite

The problem isn’t Jones they only fixed half of the problem from the 2022 mess. You put actual talent around Mac like a Tyreek Hill, or Jamarr Chase, or even a Deebo Samuel. Then you would see the production. Mac is throwing to a bunch of three receivers. He can’t elevate any average receiver to greatness only Brady could do that. Even Mahomes needs Kelce to be legitimate when he doesn’t have Kelce the Chiefs lose like in week one.

Getting O’Brien was only half the solution Mac needs better protection and an Number-one receiver

I thought O’Brien would fix Mac Jones which he has so far with the scheme. However, he can’t make the pass catchers better when they aren’t number-one receivers. The best target Mac has is Hunter Henry. Still boggles my mind that JuJu was supposed to be the number one receiver and he can’t be on the field at the most crucial part of the game. He shouldn’t be on the team period.
