The Los Angeles Rams enter training camp for the 2025 NFL season looking to build on their 2024 season that saw the team reach the NFC Divisional round of the playoffs. The Rams have used the NFL draft and free agency to help build the roster and add depth to a team with Super Bowl aspirations.
One of the key off-season moves the Rams made was signing free agent WR Davante Adams. Teaming with 3rd year receiver Puka Nacua, the Rams expect to have a formidable 1-2 punch in their passing game. Adams comes into training camp extremely motivated and hungry for the opportunity to play for a championship. The Rams will look to his experience and veteran leadership to help the young receiver corps. An interesting battle to watch during training camp will be for the 4th receiver spot between Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield. Both Whittington and Mumpfield are expected to make the opening roster, and their battle during training camp should take their respective games to another level, as well as giving the Rams depth at their WR position. Rookie TE Terrance Ferguson will be another player to watch in training camp. The 2nd round pick out of Oregon is expected to play a significant role alongside Tyler Higbee as the Rams’ tight ends.
Kyren Williams and Blake Corum return as the Rams’ top 2 running backs. To add depth to their running back room, they selected RB Jarquez Hunter out of Auburn. With his pass-catching ability, Hunter fits the mold that head coach Sean McVay likes with his running backs. Hunter and Ronnie Rivers will battle for the #3 running back position.
The Rams brought back OL Coleman Shelton this past offseason. Shelton is expected to be the Rams’ starting center in the 2025 season. 2nd-year center Beaux Limmer will challenge Shelton for the starting center position. A question the Rams will look to answer will be at the left tackle position, as Alaric Jackson, the projected starting LT, is dealing with blood clots in his legs. The Rams do expect Jackson to play this season.
They added depth to the defensive line with the signing of Poona Ford in free agency. Ford gives the Rams a solid run stopper in the middle of their defensive line and will be in the rotation mix with Braden Fiske and Kobie Turner. Rookie DL Ty Hamilton is a player to keep an eye on in training camp. The 5th round draft pick out of Ohio State will look to have a good camp to become a key member of the defensive line rotation. Rookie Josaiah Stewart figures to be in the defensive mix for the Rams this season. The 3rd round pick out of Michigan gives the Rams options with his versatility. Stewart can play on the edge and bring pressure as a pass rusher. His solid tackling form allows him to play a key role as a run stopper.
The Los Angeles Rams enter the 2025 training camp with aspirations of playing in the Super Bowl. With the players the team has drafted, their free agent signings, and returning players, the team comes into camp with the belief that they have the right mix of players for a return trip to the Super Bowl.
