So, for those who dont know, on the first of every month Lego releases all of their new sets. I just so happen to be a giant Lego fan. As an avid collector, I like to keep tabs on the new sets, and I’ve put my top three for June later in the article. But first, let’s talk about the sets that just might break sales records and clean out shelves.
With a massive selection of brand new options, this is a great drop. The key releases include sets 10333 Barad-Dur from The Lord of The Rings, 21061 Notre Dame de Paris, 21349 The Tuxedo Cat, and 10334 Retro Radio. All four of these sets were super anticipated by fans and have since been flying out of stores. I also have been looking for the Mercedes AMG G63 and SL63, and the Nasa Artemis Space Launch System, and they are always sold out.
My top three came in as:
#1- The Milky Way
#2- Young Simba
#3- Carl, Russell, Kevin
Lets start with my number three , the BrickHeadz Carl, Russell, and Kevin, priced at $19.99 . This set is rated 10 and up and has 308 pieces. BrickHeadz are like big headed mini fiqures, they can be displayed and collected, or used as toys. I am defenitley a DIsney adult, and UP is one of my favorite moves, so of course I must get my hands on these little cuties. The little details on these fiqures are perfect, like Carls glasses, and the colors on Kevin. Carl stands at 3.5″, Russell is 3″ tall, and Kevin is 5″, which makes them easy to display on small shelves. I also think this is a great deal for the price, three fiqures in one box, which means 3 seperate builds! This is a small set, with a calm, easy build , and an average construction time of about an hour. I’m excited to pick this one up the next time I’m out and about.
Sitting at number two is Young Simba, the Lion King, priced at $129.99. It contains 1445 pieces and is for ages 18 and up. Pro tip there is a smaller Simba available for $19.99 if you don’t want to break the bank. This adorable guy is a collaboration with Disney for The Lion Kings 30th anniversary. Simba has a moving, poseable head for more display options. The inner workings are on the more complex side, which makes for a fun challenge in the build. Standing at over 11.5″ tall , the average build time for this big boy is roughly 2-3 hours. The resemblance to Simba in the film is sort of crazy since it’s made out of plastic. I already have this one coming in the mail.
And saving the best for last, spot number one goes to The Milky Way Galaxy. Coming in at $199.99, for ages 18 and up, with 3091 pieces, I am the most pumped for this set! Marketed as a gallery art style build, the beauty is meant to be hung on the wall. The dimensions for this one are as follows: 16″ vertically, 26″ horizontally, and 2″ of height. I think this set is so beautiful, it’s like having a piece of space in your home. The Milky Way is a 3D set. The texture of the artwork comes from all the random, unused legos, combined with regualar bricks. It makes the whole thing so interesting to look at. With an average build time of 3-5 hours, it seems like a great way to spend an afternoon in the sun.
Take a look at the Lego website for a full list of new releases. If you try any of them out, let me know!
Until next time, friends.
