Ben Congdon is a Senior at Tusky Valley High School. Ben is a people mover of an offensive lineman. He gives you versatility to play left or right tackle. He plays both spots at a super high level. You can see why Miami and Coach Cristobal would recruit Ben. Cristobal loves big guys like Ben who have a bit of “nasty” in them. When you watch his junior tape here, you will see his ability not only to attack and dominate his man in front of him. You will also see his vision and tenacity to attack the next level. I can’t wait to see the damage he does this season! Let’s get to that interview!

The Interview

Faith-Based Questions 

1. How important is your faith in your life? (Explain how it has helped you grow as a person.)              Ben: My faith has been really important to me for a while, really turned to god a few years ago, and haven’t looked back since.
2.  What is your favorite story from the bible and why?                                                                                   Ben: I really love Genesis and reading how everything came about, like the story behind it all, basically.
3. What is your favorite bible verse that you have always hung onto throughout your life?                     Ben: Romans 1:17-For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’  This is because you don’t have to be flashy and show off that you have a relationship with god, and you can be yourself. 

Personal Questions:

1. What have been some adversities that you have had to overcome in your life?                                  Ben: Just trying to be a better person than I was yesterday.
2. Who has been your inspiration in life and football?                                                                                    Ben: My brother has really been an inspiration for me. I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for him,
3. What is your favorite meal to have pregame or postgame?                                                                         Ben: I love a quick sandwich or two, but after a game, I get a lot of food to eat 

High School Questions:

1. Explain one of your favorite high school moments so far?                                                                    Ben: Playing football with the guys I’ve grown up with and all the people I’ve played with when I was younger.
2. What has been you have a subject you have struggled with in the past, that you think you have improved on?                                                                                                                                          Ben: English, definitely, because I hate writing essays.
3. Where do you feel you could improve academically?                                                                             Ben: I can definitely improve math-wise because it’s boring. 

College Questions:

1. What made you choose Miami over the other 27 offers you had?                                                            Ben: The coaches played a big role, but just the area and options that they offer you really can’t be beat. They were also my 9th offer and have kept in contact ever since. Coach Mirabal (Miami OL coach) and Coach Cristobal text every day and always make sure our family is taken care of.
2. Would there be another school that hasn’t offered you, yet, that could possibly change your mind?                                                                                                                                                                     Ben: No, definitely not. The coaches at Miami and the University itself just feels right.
3. What do you think your rating would be if you were on College Football 26′?                                     Ben: I would probably have a 70 Overall rating

DJRS Questions:

1. How did you come across DJRS?                                                                                                                    Ben: A friend of ours had used Darren to get some offers, and we decided to do the same, and it turned out to be the best decision we have ever made
2. What has been the best thing about having DJRS in your corner during the recruiting process? Ben: Just a second opinion and a person who knows the ins and outs of college football. And just a person to remind me to stay humble when my head gets too big.
3. If you could sum up DJRS and what it has meant to you during this journey?                                 Ben: It’s been a roller coaster of emotions and the options to choose from. Would not be here without Darren and the rest of DJRS.

Shoutouts

What a wonderful interview from Ben Congdon. I just wanted to point out a few of my favorite parts. First, I love to hear that Coach Cristobal has been that active in Ben’s recruitment that he texts him every day! No wonder, there’s no doubt, Ben Congdon will be a Miami Hurricane in 2027! Secondly, can I just say how humble Ben is by saying he would be a 70 rating on College Football 26. I think most of us have made ourselves a 99 overall rating. Or is it just me?
