I’m Out On Bill Belichick

Let’s go back in time to the end of the 2019 season. The Patriots lost to the Tennessee Titans and Brady played his last game in a Patriots uniform. Brady then signs with Tampa Bay and Bill Belichick didn’t sign a quarterback until July of that off-season. Cam Newton is the starter for the 2020 season and went 7-9 Brady took the Buccaneers to the Super Bowl and won.

Because Tom Brady won the Super Bowl in 2020 Bill Belichick spent a ton of money in free agency. The only winners from that free agent class were Kendrick Bourne, Hunter Henry, and Matthew Judon. Jonnu Smith and Nelson Agholor were busts. When the draft came, and Mac was sitting there Robert Kraft made sure Bill Belichick drafted him at 15. Mac Jones has a promising rookie season under Josh McDaniels then when Josh goes to Vegas Bill messes it up and sets up Mac to fail.

Players Questioned Bill Belichick Putting Them In A Bad Spot

Putting Patricia and Judge on that offensive staff was horrendous. That falls on Bill Belichick for putting those two in that spot and for not putting Mac in a position to succeed. From the start of OTA’s Mac Jones and the receivers were questioning the direction of the offense.

During the  2022 season you had Kendrick Bourne in Matt Patricia’s doghouse because he talked about the offense and backed Mac Jones. Bourne said this after the Bills game in December.

“We just need to scheme up better, We need to know what they’re doing. We need to know what they want to do on third down, you know what I mean? We’re kind of sporadic. They call this and we call that and it falls into what they want. We need to have it where they’re falling into what we want. That’s not my job. It’s my job to just run the call.

You had Jakobi Meyers sticking up for Mac and calling out the offense. Jakobi said this after the season about Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe.

“One of my memories from the year was just seeing him out there playing while you hear people chanting another quarterback’s name. That’s something that’s tough to deal with, but he didn’t really complain. He strapped his chin strap up the next play and went back to work. I’m proud of him.”

“I question what the plan is sometimes and how we’re going to attack,

I haven’t said this yet but during the Boys and Girls Club event I covered with Hunter Henry I joked that I wouldn’t ask any questions about the Patriots or the offense. He rolled his eyes and said” I would ask Bill about that one.”

You had Damien Harris doing the same. You also had Brian Hoyer doing it behind the scenes according to Tom E Curran. So what does Bill Belichick decide to do after the season ends?

Bill Belichick Has Gotten Rid Of Some Of The Players That Talked About The Offense in 2022

He cuts Brain Hoyer, let’s Jakobi Meyers go, and let’s Damien Harris go. Why? Because they all questioned the direction of the offense and Bill Belichick can’t take blame for any mistakes he has to put it on everyone else. So he put it on the players while Kraft put it on Bill Belichick and hired Bill O’Brien  as offensive coordinator.

Bill Belichick Has Shopped Mac Jones

Now, Bill Belichick has shopped Mac Jones this off-season when he knew Robert Kraft would shoot it down. Mike Florio said today Belichick reached out to the Commanders, Texans, Raiders, and Buccaneers. Honestly the Raiders make the most since because Josh McDaniels actually believes in Mac instead of grumpy Bill who wants some useless wins record to pass Don Shula that nobody cares about.

So let me get this straight. Bill Belichick won’t take responsibility for letting Brady walk, signing Cam Newton the last quarterback standing in the 2020 offseason and Putting Patricia, Judge to run the offense in 2022. Instead, it’s about making excuses when it comes to Brady and blaming the players in 2022. Got it, having said that I’m done with Bill Belichick he’s lost his ways ever since Brady left because Tom Brady made up for his mistakes period. Bill Belichick is 25-26 since Brady left.

Bill Belichick Still Has A Grudge From 2022

Another reason to be out on Bill Belichick is because he is two faced. On one hand Bill says we are onto 2023 and not focused on what happened in 2022. On the other hand, he’s still pissed at Mac according to Tom E Curran that Mac Jones went to his Alabama coaches for advice last year. News to Bill get over it. Look who you had coaching him, and you can’t say you’re onto 2023 and still holding grudges about 2022.

Of course, Bill Belichick leaked the rumor he was trying to trade Mac during the off-season because he wants to make himself look good. He probably thought well since I run the football, I can call teams about Mac then when I go to Robert, he will stop it from happening because he likes him.

Not sure I see much hope for the Patriots in 2023 with the offseason moves and Bill still holding grudges. Even with Kraft hiring Bill O’Brien I feel like Bill Belichick will make it so Mac fails again so he can go to Kraft and say this is why I wanted to stick with the quarterback in the fourth round because drafting a quarterback high is too much. Bill thinks they are too high maintenance. I hope Mac proves Bill wrong and has a year like he did his rookie season

Instead of Bill taking responsibility for putting Mac in a bad spot last year and trying to get him back to the 2021 Mac Jones  he is punishing him even more by shopping him.

I honestly hope this is Bill Belichick’s last season and Jerod Mayo becomes head coach in 2024. They need a change at head coach and have needed one especially after last season’s mess.
