Dallas Cowboys at New York Jets
If this is the week the Cowboys actually play a full game, then this will be a very long afternoon for the Jets. At every level the Cowboys are more talented, but since it’s the Cowboys, that generally means they won’t take advantage of that.
Keys to the Game:
Get Ezekiel the football. 12 carries is never that contribution you want from Elliott. I expect 25 touches and finding the end zone at least a couple of times. He’ll be hungry for a monster performance.
Dak Prescott must avoid the interception bug. Having all his targets involved is vital against a team that does not have a great defense. I would expect Witten to be more involved than last week as well. Once the running game is working, expect Amari Cooper, and plenty of him.
Cowboys O-Line vs Jets D-Line, the Jets get a couple of guys back this week and it appears both Collins and Smith will miss this game as well. The line was just okay against the Packers, and need to be better this week.
For the Jets, they get their franchise QB Sam Darnold back after the bout with mononucleosis. After 3 weeks off it will take him a bit of time to get back into game shape, and his timing may be off as well. The Cowboys defensive line must make his return miserable. Get after him early and often. This has been a huge issue for a line that was supposed to be moving up to an elite level. Oh, and the line also has to help stop Le’veon Bell, no easy task if he’s on his game. After a weak game against Aaron Jones, the linebacker combo of Smith, and Vander Esche, have to contain the Jets biggest threat.
Play 60 minutes- I know I repeat this week after week, but just once play a complete game. The Jets were brutal in every aspect last week, so don’t give them any life.
Prediction – Cowboys 34 Jets 10
