Carson Wentz: 5 Bold Predictions

As the NFL season continues to slowly creep up on us, let’s make 5 quick bold predictions for Carson Wentz the Eagles franchise quarterback!

1.Wentz Will Throw For 4,500 Yards

Last season, he became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw 4,000 passing yards without a single wide receiver getting over 500 yards receiving. The receivers that led the Eagles in receiving yards this past season were the following: TE Zach Ertz, TE Dallas Goedert, and RB Miles Sanders. This upcoming season, however, Wentz has so many more weapons at his disposal. Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson are returning from injury. The Eagles drafted wide receivers Jalen Reagor, John Hightower, and Quez Watkins. Then they also traded for wide receiver Marquise Goodwin. Their backfield also consists of Miles Sanders, Boston Scott, and a returning Corey Clement. Barring injury,  this offense can turn into a juggernaut led by the Eagles’ QB.

2. Wentz Will Have Less Than 10 Fumbles

Wentz has an issue with losing the football. Last season, he fumbled the football on 16 different occasions. Despite the uncertainty on the offensive line with Jason Peters being a free agent still, Wentz can and will take care of the football. The emergence of running backs Miles Sanders and Boston Scott within the offense can allow Wentz to not have the football in his hands often.

3. Wentz Leads The NFL In Passing Touchdowns

Throughout the entirety of his career, Wentz has never thrown for less than 15 touchdowns. He has not thrown for less than 20 touchdowns since his rookie season in 2016. With the number of weapons that Wentz has at his disposal, throwing touchdowns can come much easier than ever for him.

4. Wentz Throws 15 interceptions

The Eagles franchise has a history of taking care of the football by not throwing it to the opposition. The only season that Wentz threw more than 10 interceptions was his rookie season where he threw 14. As he becomes more of a focal point within the offense, Wentz can and will make mistakes.

5. Wentz Stays Healthy For The Second Consecutive Season

One of the many questions that circulated around Wentz prior to last season is can he stay healthy for an entire regular season. He did twice in his career so far. Last season, his season came to an end due to a particular hit by Jadeveon Clowney. The change of pace within the offense and the addition of quarterback Jalen Hurts would help keep Wentz fresh. The Eagles defense also improved in the offseason as well. The additions of DT Javon Hargrave and CB Darius Slay alongside the rest of the defense can help Wentz take a breather on the sidelines as well. Expect Wentz to lead the Eagles offense for the entire season.
