Can The Patriots Sneak A Win In Dallas?

The Patriots will travel to Dallas to try and improve to a 2-2 record. It’s probably a long shot considering the Cowboys are coming off a loss to the Cardinals and will be motivated. The Patriots are facing a tough matchup with the Cowboys who have a tough defense and Micah Parsons. Can Elliott provide the running game the Patriots will need facing his old team? It’s probably going to take more than running the ball to beat the Cowboys on Offense.

The pass catchers are going to have to have a big day Kendrick Bourne, and Demario Douglas with the end-arounds, and the tight ends Mike Gesicki and Hunter Henry. If the pass catchers can’t create separation then changes should be coming. Changes should be coming regardless to the pass catchers with JuJu Smith-Schuster being useless. But the Cowboys are without their best cornerback so that should help.

The Patriots almost beat Dallas in 2021 but came up short. Mac Jones had a good day that game too. He also had one of his favorite receivers Jakobi Meyers on the team. Mike Gesicki is not an upgrade over Jakobi Meyers or was supposed to be. That was clearly supposed to be JuJu Smith-Schuster because he took Belichick’s contract.

Patriots Bill Belichick’s respect for Jerry Jones

Bill Belichick has a lot of respect for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Jones though is the owner/ General Manager of the Cowboys meaning he also oversees the football operation. Imagine if Robert Kraft did that here? I mean Kraft has stepped into a certain point over the last three seasons but still leaves decision-making about who plays and what not to Belichick. Belichick spoke this week on hsi respect for Cowboys ownership.

I have a ton of respect for Jerry and Stephen [Jones], and the way they run the organization down there. They’ve had decades of success. They were really the team of the 90s with Jimmy [Johnson] and they’ve been good. They’ve been competitive every year, obviously more than competitive. They’ve had a lot of great players down there. Tony [Romo] had a great run. Those are great years there with Tony, Coach [Bill] Parcells. We played them here in the early 2000s, but I always keep an eye on them, just the way they do things. They’ve gotten a lot of players that they’ve gotten a lot of production from that I’d say aren’t big name players – free agents, guys that they dig out down there. I think their scouting staff does a good job. They’re very experienced.

Patriots quarterback Mac Jones won’t take any cheap shots on Sunday

This week also has been a lot of talk about Mac Jones being a dirty player. I don’t see it yet.  Yes, he’s had his cheap shots but I think he’s just trying to be competitive. I don’t think we will see any cheap shots by Mac on Sunday probably because he’s heard the noise this week. Mac spoke this week about going up against the Cowboy’s defense.

Yeah, I think a little bit. The biggest thing is that he’s coached in a lot of football games against the Patriots, and he’s been around the league, obviously, with Coach [Pete] Carroll and has a bunch of other people that he’s been under or with. He has a lot of knowledge. He’s obviously a defensive line coach, and they have a great defensive line, and you can see that. But, he has a great knowledge of the whole system and everything that they do and you can see that on film. The front’s very good, and then they play sound in the back end. So, I think they definitely have the players to do it, a lot of veteran guys and they drafted really well the last couple of years and these guys have been playing together for a little bit.
