Baltimore Ravens Week 4 Preview: vs Kansas City Chiefs
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Baltimore Ravens, on Monday Night Football, were outcoached and outplayed by the Detroit Lions in every aspect of the game, suffering a 38-30 loss in Week 3. And now, the Ravens head to Arrowhead Stadium, a place that the Ravens have not won since 2012, as they get ready to take on Patrick Mahomes and a struggling Kansas City Chiefs team that is looking to catch their stride.

A matchup between the two most exciting quarterbacks in the NFL, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes, will also be exciting and entertaining to watch when these two quarterbacks square off with each other. Both of these teams are coming into this game with 1-2 records, a mark that no one expected to see from these two teams so early in the regular season, but here we are. The Ravens are coming into this game after losing to Detroit on Monday night at home. The offense of the Ravens was as usual, keeping the Ravens in the game, as Lamar Jackson threw for three touchdown passes. However, the defense let this team down once again by allowing Detroit to score 38 points.

The Kansas City Chiefs, on the other hand got their first win of the season over the New York Giants on Sunday Night by the score of 22-9. The Chiefs got off to a 0-2 start by losing to the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles to start off the season. But Patrick Mahomes and company bounce back after a slow start and great finish, as Mahomes went 22/37 for 224 passing yards and 1 touchdown. The Chiefs have been looking to catch their stride this season as the running game has been nonexistent so far in the season.

Coming into this game the winner of this game will be good position for a potential higher seed come playoff time in January and on the road to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara. The Ravens will need a big bounce back from Derrick Henry for 3rd time this season fumbling in a critical situation, which allows the Lions to run most of the clock down and beat the Ravens on that play. Most importantly the Ravens defense needs and I mean needs to start playing like the defense of old, and make much smarter plays on defense to make sure they execute the plays on defense.

The Chiefs on the other hand, need to figure out how to fix their offense that’s not been making enough plays by Patrick Mahomes which could make the rest of the NFL watch out for them later on in the season. Their running attack has been nonexistent through the first 3 games of the season. Travis Kelce has not had one game over 75 receiving yards at his age could be concerning moving forward this season. The one surprise of the Chiefs is WR Tyquan Thornton who traded to KC in the offseason after having 3 underperforming years with the New England Patriots, he has become somewhat the same #1 Wide Receiver for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense.

This game this Sunday at 4:25 pm is a must-win for both the Ravens and the Chiefs. A loss by one of these teams with drop them to 1-3 and it could make winning the division for either much harder to do, and they might start thinking about the wild card moving forward in the season. But the one thing is for sure you don’t count both the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs, knowing that it is early in the season and both teams can pull winning streaks after this game and still win the division. The quarterback who makes the least amount of mistakes is going to win this game. With Lamar Jackson playing so well this year I believe that he will have a much better game this Sunday over Patrick Mahomes, and the Ravens also have a much better running attack than the Chiefs and that could be the different maker for the Ravens over the Chiefs.`

Prediction: Ravens 28 Chiefs 20
