Apex Weapons: Top 3 vs. Bottom 3

Are you guys ready for some more gaming content? Fear not, I’m here for you. Let’s take a good look at the best 3 weapons, and the worst 3 weapons in Apex Legends this season. Please keep in mind I am not a professional gamer by any means, I play only for fun. This list is based on my personal opinions and gaming experiences. Ok, now let’s get into it.

So, my current favorites are the L-STAR, VK-47 Flatline, and the Sentinel. With the L-STAR for sure, taking the top spot. This light machine gun-style weapon uses energy ammo and is fully automatic. It fires red orb-like projectiles that are large, so it makes every shot easy to land. Also, the L-STAR has an overheating feature, which reloads and cools down the weapon after 22 rounds. Now, some people find the cool-down period has been extended and is impacting the reload time, but I haven’t noticed this myself. The slower cool down is overly compensated by the extremely high rate of fire, and the accuracy up close, and long range. I’ve always loved the L-STAR, it’s easy to use, and is good for beginners and pros alike and, that’s why it’s in my top spot.

Now, in second place would be the VK-47 Flatine. An assault rifle, with heavy rounds and an automatic or single-fire option, makes the Flatline an Apex gamer’s wet dream. With a 3.1-second re-load and no wind-up time, it puts all other AR’s to shame. This gun has also always been consistently great throughout the seasons. However, with the season 20 buff (meaning an improvement), it does 19 damage points per shot versus the previous 15. That along with a fantastic fire rate. However there is no way to avoid the recoil, so it is not always easy to aim. So for that, spot 2.

The last of my top 3 is the Sentinel. This is a bolt-action sniper, amped by shield cells, which increases the damage by 25% for 120 seconds. That right there is what we call an automatic power buff. I will admit it is not so great in up-close or late-game battles because it is single-fire and hard to control up close. Yet I still think it is great for earlier in-game play. Spot 3 for the Seninel.

Now let’s talk about the bottom 3, starting with my least favorite, the Hemlock. An assault rifle with heavy rounds and a 3-shot burst the Hemlock was meant to act like a sniper but for close-range gameplay. They failed on that end. It has always had an extremely slow re-load, which ends up getting you in trouble during a fast-paced game. And, as of this season, the accuracy at close range has tanked. Pair that with the SIGNIFICANT burst delay, I place it well behind all the SMG’s. Last place goes to Hemlock in my opinion.

With only a slight upper hand, we have the Charge Rifle. A sniper, with 4 shots per magazine, and a tracking feature, it is used a lot by pro gamers. If you can land a shot, the damage is intense, but this season introduced a major Nerf, making it super hard to control the recoil and aim. It also makes a very loud sound when you fire it, often giving away the players’ location. All in all, it’s just not as versatile or easy to use as other snipers; so for that bottom 3, but better than that Hemlock situation.

Now if I were to pick a weapon off the bottom 3 list to actually use if need be, it would be the R-99. I actually, used it as a main this gun, but now it’s not really worth it. The R-99 is a sub-machine gun, that uses light ammo, with an automatic firing mode. It has a 17-round magazine which is about average. I’ve always loved the high firing rate of this weapon, but every season, it seems like the recoil gets worse and worse. Now it’s nearly impossible to control the thing regardless of whether you’re a pro or not. The R-99 has been nerfed into a gun only suitable for close-range combat, and only if you can handle the recoil. It’s usable, but not ideal.

To recap, season 20 made some major weapon changes, seemingly more annoying than not. With that being said, take all this with a grain of salt, as I am not a professional. I am just a hobby gamer with opinions. Let me know what you all think about this list and your favorites!

Until next time, friends!
