All The Pressure Is On Sam Darnold

All the pressure in the Super Bowl is on Sam Darnold, not Drake Maye. Yeah, Darnold has done well everywhere he’s been, except with the Jets early in his career, when he saw ghosts during a 2019 game against the Patriots. If the Patriots can eliminate JSN and Cooper Kupp and blitz Darnold, he could go back to his old habits. If Sam Darnold loses, he will be remembered as a quarterback who sees ghosts, especially in big moments. If Drake Maye loses, it’s his second year, and he can only go upwards from here.

Is Sam Darnold A Choke Artist?

The Patriots coaching staff has more experience in Super Bowls than Seattle does between Josh McDaniels and Mike Vrabel. Milton Williams was on the Eagles last year and won the Super Bowl. This is Sam Darnold’s first Super Bowl last Drake Maye’s first Super Bowl which quarterback would you rather have for the next decade? I would say Maye because he can do more with less talent. Here was Vrabel on how Maye has approached the week.

 I think we try to make it as normal as we possibly can, knowing that it’s not going to be. And we try to stay on the same routine and try to keep the meeting times the same, the treatment times. I think that these guys were able to work on Monday, have yesterday off. There was a lot of activity around the hotel, the meeting rooms, and guys are getting together and watching tape. I think that’s what everybody has to do to make sure that they’re ready. I think the next 48 hours will be critical for us, as we kind of get back into our normal routine here of a Wednesday and Thursday, and then the families come in and things just start to ramp up

I think the more relaxed quarterback is Maye, Darnold again has been in the league awhile and all the pressure is on him to put away any doubt he won’t choke in a big spot. Drake Maye was asked about the shoulder Wednesday

“The shoulder feels great,” Maye said. “That’s why you have guys in the training room, my guys Zach, Mike, there’s been multiple people in there working on getting me healthy, and I’m feeling great to go.”

The Patriots Can Get To Sam Darnold

Nobody thought the Patriots were going to the Super Bowl at the beginning of the season. Now people think they are here because of the easy schedule and the breaks they got during the playoffs. Well, they may have gotten another break by going up against seeing ghosts Sam Darnold instead of MVP candidate Matthew Stafford. The Patriots took advantage of the easy schedule and the breaks that came along their way. I would much rather play Sam Darnold than Matthew Stafford in the Super Bowl.
