Masters 2026 Preview: The Magic of Augusta Awaits
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

By: Courtney Walsh

In my family, The Masters is a huge tradition. It marks the start of spring and is a time for a reset or refresh for the year. Yes, it’s only four months into the year, but sometimes we all get off track or need a boost. My dad, my brothers, and I gather in the living room to watch, and for me, that meant prime Tiger Woods—the guy who made me want to pick up a set of clubs.

We would even go to the range after rounds, hitting balls while talking about the day’s round and how some of our favorites were doing so far. It’s still on my long sports bucket list to visit those places. In classic Korean style, my mother is NEVER one to miss a chance to cook a family meal, so Master’s Sundays were epic. It’s been cool watching her learn about the menu at Augusta and try to replicate it at home for us.

Even if we’ve been fighting or busy, we all come together for the Masters. So, with that said, here’s a look at the 2026 Masters tournament, one of the PGA’s biggest events on tour.

The 90th Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club (April 9-12). With its manicured fairways, blooming azaleas, and legendary Amen Corner, the Masters isn’t just another major—it’s a rite of spring that captivates millions, including many non-golf fans.

What makes it so special? Founded in 1934 by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts, it’s the only major played on the same course every year. Augusta National feels like a living museum: strategic genius meets breathtaking beauty. The green jacket symbolizes golf immortality. Traditions like the Champions Dinner, Par-3 Contest, and pimento-cheese sandwiches create an aura of elegance and exclusivity. “Patrons” (never “fans”) move quietly—no phones, no running—just pure focus on the game.

For non-golf fans, the appeal runs deeper. It’s appointment television with genuine drama: one player versus the course, redemption arcs, shocking collapses, and Cinderella stories. The broadcast’s timeless feel, combined with the course’s Instagram-perfect visuals, turns it into cultural theater—like the Kentucky Derby or Wimbledon. Families gather, casual viewers root for underdogs, and even skeptics get caught up in the pageantry and human emotions.

This year’s 91-player field is wide open and star-studded. Here are the players to watch:

Scottie Scheffler (+500) leads the betting as the world No. 1 and two-time champion (2022, 2024). His precise ball-striking and calm demeanor make him the favorite for a record-tying third jacket in five years.

Rory McIlroy (+1,200), the defending champion, returns after completing the career Grand Slam in 2025. Fresh off that milestone and more comfortable than ever at Augusta, he’s aiming for history as the first repeat winner in years.

Jon Rahm (+900) and Bryson DeChambeau (+1,000) bring LIV Golf firepower. Both are past major winners, with the power and short-game touch to dominate Augusta’s demanding greens.

Keep an eye on breakout star Ludvig Åberg (+1,700). The young Swede’s fearless approach and length could produce magic on the greens. Consistent contender Xander Schauffele (+1,500) is also ready for his first major breakthrough.

Visit Bet365 to join in the action and spice up your weekend.

Whether you’re a lifelong golf fan or just love the spectacle, the Masters offers unforgettable moments. Tune in, grab a sandwich, and watch history unfold. The green jacket awaits.
