Unrivaled Basketball officially opened its second season Monday, Jan. 5, signaling continued growth for the professional women’s 3-on-3 league with expanded competition, a championship banner presentation, and four games featuring many of the sport’s top players.

The league, co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, expanded from six teams to eight for Season 2, adding Hive BC and Breeze BC. All eight teams competed on opening day at Sephora Arena in Miami, continuing Unrivaled’s mission of providing elite offseason competition for WNBA players.

Before the evening slate, Unrivaled recognized defending champion Rose BC with a championship banner ceremony inside the arena, commemorating the club’s title run from the league’s inaugural season. The presentation served as a symbolic start to a season built on momentum from Year 1, which helped establish Unrivaled as a viable and visible winter basketball option.

The on-court action matched the moment, as opening-day games showcased offensive firepower, defensive intensity, and the fast pace that has become a hallmark of the league’s format.

Mist BC opened the season with a 72–56 victory over Hive BC. Mist controlled the game from the opening tip, led by Allisha Gray, who scored 21 points and added nine rebounds. Breanna Stewart contributed key scoring stretches to help Mist pull away. Hive was led by Monique Billings, who finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds in the franchise’s Unrivaled debut.

Laces BC followed with a 58–42 win against Vinyl BC. Brittney Sykes paced Laces with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Jackie Young added 15 points. Laces took control in the second half after trailing at halftime. Erica Wheeler led Vinyl with 12 points off the bench.

Defending champion Rose BC delivered the most dominant performance of the day, defeating Lunar Owls BC 80–60. Chelsea Gray led all scorers with 35 points, along with eight assists and three steals, showcasing her control of the game on both ends. Aaliyah Edwards led Lunar Owls with 23 points and 12 rebounds.

The night concluded with Breeze BC earning a 69–62 win over Phantom BC. Paige Bueckers led Breeze with 24 points in her Unrivaled debut, consistently creating offense throughout the game. Rickea Jackson converted key free throws late to seal the win. Phantom was led by Tiffany Hayes, who scored 20 points, while Aliyah Boston added 18.

Season 2 continues throughout January with regular doubleheaders, as Unrivaled builds on its expanded schedule and growing visibility. Games are broadcast nationally on truTV and TNT, offering increased exposure for the league and its athletes.

With deeper rosters, new teams, and high-level performances across opening day, Unrivaled’s second season opened with a clear message: the league’s presence in women’s basketball continues to strengthen.
