Two of the best teams in the NFL faceoff this week when the San Francisco 49ers host the Dallas Cowboys in a classic NFC clash. We all had tickets to the Christain McCaffrey show last week and it was worth every penny as we rolled to the dub over Arizona and the numbers prove it. The 49ers had 4 players in 4 different positions ranked number 1 in Pro Football Focus rankings. McCaffrey was named NFC Player of the Week and Brock Purdy added more fans to the bandwagon while breaking the franchise record for completion percentage. All these fun stats will be put to the test versus a Dallas defense that has sent more than one starting QB to turf again, and again or running for their lives.
Receipts Are Real:
After sending the Boys packing in 2021 and 2022 Dallas will come to Cali fired up and ready to roll. As detailed in other articles, one of the best skills Purdy has is his quick release and decision-making. Hard to do that when Mr. Parsons and company are coming at you fast and at every angle. The pass blocking thus far has been average and that won’t due against this relentless pass rush. It will be key to build some type of running game so it slows down the pass rush and opens up that play-action game. With Trevon Diggs out for the season, they still come into the game ranking number 1 in 4 different categories on the defensive side of the ball. The remaining DB’s Dallas have shown up and shown out so it will be a challenge. But Purdy getting the ball out of his hand quick will help as well as having a stable of players who love to get that YAC. Purdy is completing 72.3% of his passes and has helped delevlop a new star in Brandon Aiyuk who is off to a great start.
Bosa Vs Parsons:
The two best edge rushers NOT named T.J. Watt hit the field with a mission to make the QB day a living hell. Micah Parsons is off to a fast start with sacks and QB hits, it’s safe to say Bosa is finished with his personal preseason having sat it all out and now is 5 games in. You know that both will be a factor Sunday night the question is which of the two will have that game-changing play that could turn the tides in favor of one team. Don’t think for a second a compeitor like Bosa isn’t hearing and seeing all the Parson hype and wants to remind people who he is and what he can do. Watching two of the best defenses in the league going head to head will be a treat. With the recent struggles Dallas has had in the red zone nothing more the Niners would want than to make them leave points on the field. And not to be forgotten is Javon Hargrave and his 3 sacks and 3 TFFL. Both units want to lay claim to being the best in the business. Buckle up your chin strap for this one.
Conclusion and Prediction:
Dallas has struggled against the run and that is the San Francisco bread and butter so that could spell doom for the team with a star on it’s helmet. Couple that with how blanced this 49ers offense has been and I like their chances to get the W. This a chance with the eyes of the league on them to show who the best team in the league is or at least the NFC. Plus playing in front of a super hype crowd should be the push needed to get it done.
In the end I say 27-24 49ers. #FTTB #NinerGang
