Call me spoiled, but…
Was there any doubt that Tiger Woods was going to win at Zozo Championship?
Of course not!
In his first start in nine weeks, which was also his first start since offseason knee surgery, Tiger shot 19 under par and no round worse than 67.
There was not any doubt that Tiger was going to roll in that 8-footer on the last hole, which will make that indelible moment run on a loop for the next six months.
This thing could have gotten a whole lot more interesting early in the restart.
As many of the fans were rooting for the local hero, Hideki Matsuyama.
Tiger bogeyed his first hole out of the gates and then Matsuyama stuffed it to 5 feet on 14.
That could have cut the deficit to just one shot with four holes remaining.
Instead … Matsuyama shoved it, and Tiger rolled in a 20-footer for birdie.
He never trailed by fewer than two the rest of the way.
Tiger won the rain-hit tournament, Zozo Championship beating the local favorite, Hideki Matsuyama by three strokes at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club.
With the win, Tiger Woods has tie Sam Snead’s PGA Tour record of 82 victories.

“Congratulations to Tiger Woods on his 82nd PGA Tour win! Tiger Woods win at the Tour Championship and the Masters were incredible but this win is even more impressive. He played close to flawless golf and looked so relaxed and comfortable all four rounds. Fully expect him to be a playing Captain at Presidents Cup.”, Ron Mintz – Golf Analyst & Writer.
“It’s been great, it’s awesome. He played unbelievable today. Let a couple get away on a couple par 5s,but pretty impressive the way he’s hitting the golf ball. Putting looks good, it’s been pretty fun to watch.”, Gary Woodland.
“Tiger Woods, who finished 13th in the final Presidents Cup rankings in August, has an opportunity make himself one of four captain’s picks when he decides which players will fill out his U.S. Team. If picked, Woods would be the second playing captain in Presidents Cup history.”, Ron Mintz continued, “A victory in Japan would be the seventh country where Tiger Woods has won a PGA TOUR event – USA, England, Scotland, Spain, Canada and Ireland.”
