#5) This is not your Chip Kelly’s Oregon Ducks:

For years, Oregon has been built on speed and offense. They are now built on defense. The Ducks defeated the Colorado Buffaloes, 45-3 on Friday night. For the 5th straight game, Oregon has held its opponents to single digit points. Their first half defense has been amazing. They are giving up under 4 points per game before half-time. The Ducks are 3-0 in the PAC-12 for the first time since 2013. If Mario Cristobal’s teams runs the table, they will earn a final four appearance. Justin Herbert has 17 passing touchdowns and 1 interceptions. He could be the #1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

#4) Down Goes Georgia:

South Carolina(3-3), went into Athens and upset the #3 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. The Gamecocks won 20-17 in double overtime. Rodrigo Blankenship missed a 42-yard field goal to end the game. Jake Fromm had has worst game of the season. He had 3 interceptions and a fumble. The Bulldogs were favored by 24.5 points and walked away with their national championship dreams shattered. Georgia should move down in the rankings to 9 or 10th.

#3) Is Tua Tagovailoa a lock for the Heisman Trophy?:

#1 Alabama won in College Station, 47-28 over Texas A&M.The Crimson Tide have won 20 out of their last 21 SEC road games. It was Nick Saban’s 5th straight game where his team has scored 45 or more points. Tua threw for 293 yards 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. He has 27 touchdown passes and 1 interception on the season. Alabama still has to play LSU at home and travel to Auburn on November 30th. If Tua can help Alabama go undefeated in the SEC, he will be a lock to win the Heisman Trophy.

#2) #6 Oklahoma dominates #11 Texas:

The Sooners beat the Longhorns 34-27. Oklahoma sacked Sam Ehlinger 9 times. Jalen Hurts had 4 touchdowns and 366 total yards. CeeDee Lamb had 10 catches for 171 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Sooners have a very good chance to go undefeated in the Big-12. The Cleveland Browns should make a run at Lincoln Riley this off-season.

#1) #5 LSU has one hurdle left:

LSU outlasted #7 Florida, 42-28, in Baton Rouge. Joe Burrow was 21-24 for 293 yards and 3 touchdown passes. LSU’s offense is as good as any unit in college football. But, if a 3rd string quarterback, can score 28 points… What will Tua and The Crimson Tide score in Alabama?

Arizona State is 5-1. Herman Edwards is doing a very good job.

Rutgers University has lost 5 straight games. They lost to Indiana, 35-0. Over the past five weeks they have been outscored…30-0,30-16,52-0,48-7 and 35-0. The Scarlet Knights should move out of the Big-10 because Rutgers is a glorified scrimmage for any Division I program.

#8 Wisconsin has allowed 29 total points in 6 games. That is the lowest total given up (after 6 games) by a Big-10 team since 1973.

#10 Penn State defeated #17 Iowa, 17-12. It was the first time James Franklin has beaten a ranked team, on the road, since 2014.

Temple beat #23 Memphis, 30-28. They have now upset two ranked teams and are 5-1.

Notre Dame is now 5-1. I don’t see them making the Final Four playoffs. Their only loss came to Georgia and they lost to bad South Carolina team.

The Sports Whisperer’s Top 7:

7) Oregon
6) Wisconsin
5) Ohio State
4) LSU
3) Clemson
2) Oklahoma
1) Alabama
