5 Things We Learned About Week 2 In the NFL:
5) Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow are for real:
Herbert became the first quarterback since Bobby Clatterbuck (NY Giants, 1954), to have a rushing TD and passing TD in the first half of his NFL debut. Burrow is the first rookie to throw over 60 passes in a game and not throw an Interception. Both rookies have a bright future in the NFL.
4) The Jets are the worst team in the NFL:
Adam Gase has coached 18 games with the New York Jets. In those 18 games the Jets have scored less than 20 points in 12 of those contests. New York has been outscored, 42-6 in the first half. It is time for the Jets to fire Gase. He has been a disaster.
3) Do the Packers have the best offense in the NFL?
The Packers have scored 85 points in 2 games, 43 and 42. Aaron Rodgers is playing like an MVP and Aaron Jones led the team in rushing and receiving yards on Sunday. He also scored 3 TD’s. This could be the best offense Rodgers has ever had in Green Bay.
2) Is Kyler Murray the MVP:
The Arizona Cardinals have played 2 elite defenses, The San Francisco 49ers, and the Washington Football team. The Cardinals are 2-0 and Murray has been sensational. On Sunday, he had 2 rushing touchdowns and completed 26 of 38 passes for 286 yards and a touchdown passes. Murray is one of the best dual threat quarterbacks in the NFL.
1) The Cowboys comeback:
Dallas was trailing the Atlanta Falcons 29-10 at halftime and won the game. 4 Dak Prescott became the first quarterback in the history of the NFL to pass for more than 400 yards and rush for three touchdowns in the same game. The Falcons had no business losing this game. The Cowboys had a successful onside kick where the Falcons players, literally stood around, and watched the ball.
Greg Zeurlein kicked a 46-yard field goal as time expired and the Cowboys won, 40-39.
Bonus Coverage:
Cam Newton and the Patriots lost to the Seattle Seahawks and Russell Wilson Sunday night, 35-30. Both of these quarterbacks could be in the MVP conversation at the end of the year.
