5 Things We Learned About Week 14:
5) Is Ron Rivera coach of the year?
The Washington Football team is playing their 3rd string quarterback, and their head coach went through cancer treatment during the season. They started the season 1-5, and have now won 4 in a row. They are the favorites to win the NFC East. Rivera and Alex Smith should win coach and comeback player of the year.
4) Has Philadelphia found their new quarterback?
Jalen Hurts started for the first time on Sunday for the Eagles. He helped his team upset the New Orleans Saints, 24-21. Hurts was 17-30 for 167 passing yards and 1 touchdown. He also rushed 18 times for 106 rushing yards. The Eagles looked energized, athletic, and focused for the first time in weeks. If Hurts continues to play well, he could be the future quarterback in Philadelphia.
3) Are the Colts the best team no one outside of Indianapolis talks about?
The Colts are 9-4. Over the past past 3 weeks they defeated the Titans, 45-26 and the Raiders, 44-27. Phillip Rivers is managing the game at the quarterback position and they continue to run the ball and win with defense. Frank Reich has done a tremendous job of building a winning team that has gone under the radar.
2) Buffalo is a legitimate Super Bowl Contender.
The Bills beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 26-15, on Sunday night. Josh Allen threw for 238 yards; 2 touchdown passes and 1 interception. Stefon Diggs had 10 catches for 130 yards and 1 touchdown. The Bills get better every week. They are one of the best prepared teams’ week in and week out.
1) The Ravens vs. The Browns was the game of the year.
Baltimore defeated Cleveland Monday night, 47-42. The two teams combined for 9 rushing touchdowns tying an NFL record set in 1922. Both of these teams have flaws. The Ravens have very limited wide receivers, and the Browns defense needs help. Don’t be surprised if these two teams meet up for a 3rd time in the post-season. Lamar Jackson willed his team to victory with his legs and arm.
