5 Things We Learned About Week 14 in the NFL:

5) Are the Titans in the best position to make playoffs?

The Tennessee Titans have had a very up and down season. They beat last year’s Super  Bowl winner, The Philadelphia Eagles (26-23) and dominated the New England Patriots (34-10). Those victories were impressive but they have a record of 6-6. Their Schedule is favorable, they play the 4-8 Jacksonville Jaguars, the 4-8 New York Giants, the 6-6 Washington Redskins and end the season at home against the 6-6 Indianapolis Colts. Quarterback Marcus Mariota is finally healthy and playing much better. Over the past 2 seasons, Mariota has 12 game-winning drives. That is the most of any quarterback in the NFL. The Titans need to let Mariota throw 30-35 times per game.

4) Is Phillip Rivers the MVP?

The LA Chargers went into Pittsburgh and defeated the Steelers 33-30, without their star running back Melvin Gordon. Rivers was 26 for 36, threw two touchdowns, and passed for 299 yards. Rivers is completing 69.7% of his passes, 29 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. The Chargers are now 9-3 and are in the hunt for home field advantage throughout the AFC  playoffs. If They win their division, Rivers should be the MVP.

3) Is Pete Carroll Coach of the Year?

The Seattle Seahawks were supposed to be in a rebuilding mode this year. Carroll’s team is now 7-5 and in prime position to make the playoffs. They will host the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night in a must win game. Russell Wilson has 29 touchdowns passes, only 5 interceptions and is averaging over 5 yards per rush. Seattle’s offense is ranked 9th in the NFL, scoring 26.6 points per game and they are ranked 9th in scoring defense. They are only giving up 21.6 points per game. No one in the NFL wants to play them in the post-season. Carroll has done a masterful job of keeping his team in the playoff hunt.

2) Are we looking at the Bears collapsing after an 8-3 start?

Chicago lost to the New York Giants 30-27 on Sunday. The Bears are now 8-4 and their schedule doesn’t get any easier. They play the 10-1 LA Rams, the Green Bay Packers, and end at the Minnesota Vikings. The Bears need to go 2-2 over the last 4 games if they want to win the division and make the playoffs.

1) You can’t stop the New England Patriots:

Quarterback Tom Brady threw for 311 yards and passed for 1 touchdown in the Patriots 24-10 victory of the Minnesota Vikings. New England rushed for 160 yards and compiled 471 of total offense. The Patriots are in primed position to have home field advantage in the AFC. The schedule should produce a minimum of three wins. They play at Miami, at Pittsburgh, at home against Buffalo and New York. Below is the record of Brady’s rivals against the Patriots.

Denver’s 1st-year Running Back, Philip Lindsey, is quietly having a monster season. Lindsey has 937 rushing yards, 8 touchdowns and is averaging 6.1 yards per carry.

Ron Rivera is on the “hot-seat” in Carolina. The Panthers are 6-6 and still have two play the Saints twice.

How Does Jets head coach, Todd Bowles have a job? Over the past three season Bowles has compiled a record of 5-11,5-11 and 3-8. The NFL just ranked the Jets 32 out of 32 teams.
