The Yankees ended the week completing a three-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox. As is typically the case for Yankees/Red Sox, it was ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball game that was thus in front of a national audience. Aaron Judge entered the game on a career-long four-game home run streak.
Judge didn’t waste time, extending that streak to five with a two-run home run in the second inning. When it was all said and done, Judge would add a sixth home run in five games. Winning the game with a two-run home run in the eighth.
Judge and the Yankees ended the week in style, and the league noticed. Early Monday, Judge was announced as the American League Player of the Week. It was the third time in his career, but the first time since his historic 2017 season.

Judge is not only on a scorching home run streak, but he is making them count.

The original Yankee home opener against the Phillies was postponed. The Phillies opened their season against the Marlins. After the series, many Marlin players tested positive for Covid-19. The original Yankee/Phillie series was postponed out of caution due to COVID concerns.
The Yankees and Phillies began their first series Monday. Judge and company continued their hot streak with a 6- 3 win over the Phillies to the Bronx Monday.
