Xan Diego! The Boston Red Sox ownership would rather kiss their homegrown talent goodbye and buy a football team. Good Luck! The San Diego Padres are ready to win now. They signed Xander Bogaerts last night for 11 years and $280 million. At least the Padres don’t have fraudulent ownership and front office like the Red Sox do. A member of the Fenway Sports Group hates Boston. However, the Padres are all about putting the best team on the field to win games. Manny Machado, Juan Soto, and now Xander Bogaerts the Padres should go get J.D. Martinez next.
The Padres are built to win now, while the Red Sox would rather focus money on buying a Football team
They also have a much better play-by-play announcer in Don Orsillo whom Red Sox ownership decided to get rid of and hire someone that is a borefest. Now Orsillo will be calling home runs for Xander while the Red Sox owners are left with a sucky team and a bore of a play-by-play announcer. The Padres play the Red Sox in San Diego at the end of May. I hope Xander hits three home runs and the Red Sox get swept. Thank you Boston for not wanting to spend on talent San Diego will take it! If I was a Red Sox fan I would stop by the MLB.TV package and watch the Padres games cause that broadcast will be way more fun than the crap show that will be on NESN.
As long as that ownership is in place I have zero interest in the Red Sox. They really need to sell the team if they don’t care about building a championship baseball team. Again go by the football franchise
The Padres are a powerhouse on offense
Owner of the Padres Peter Seidler is worth 3 billion while John Henry is worth 4 billion. Do you mean to tell me John Henry doesn’t have enough money to pay talent? Of course, he has enough money And wants a nerd running his baseball operation. Have fun being the Tampa Bay Rays Red Sox. The Padres are saying screw the analytics and get actual talent.
Xander has won two World Championships and hit 307/.377/.456 with 15 home runs and 73 RBIs in 150 games in 2022. Even without Tatis last year the Padres still made the NLCS. Xander brings the added bat to an already powerful lineup.
The Red Sox have lost Don Orsillo, Mookie Betts, Andrew Benintendi, Xander Bogaerts, and will probably lose Rafael Devers. They haven’t replaced them with anybody good and are paying the price for it. As for San Diego, the sun is shining bright for them as they head into the end of the Winter Meetings.
Next up for the Padres is starting pitching while next for the Red Sox is hope they don’t lose their entire fan base which they might have already.
