2016 World Series Preview
The World Series is finally here! A long World Series drought will be broken either way with both teams having long spans since their last title (one obviously extremely long). With that being said, here is my prediction for how the fall classic will turn out.
Cubs over Indians 4-2
This will be a great series with a lot of young, exciting talent being showcased. Game 1 I’ll actually give to Cleveland, being that they’ve played great so far in the postseason, and especially in the friendly confines of Progressive Field. Although, there is one problem for the Tribe. The confines of Wrigley are more friendly to the Cubs. Chicago can split the first 2 games in Cleveland, being Lester or Arrieta at least winning one. When they go back to Chicago though, that’s when Cleveland better watch out. Cubs fans have been waiting a long time for this, so you better believe they will pull out all of the stops to root on their home team. Also, the Cubs offense has seemed to finally find itself in the postseason, and that was obviously shown by what they did to Clayton Kershaw in game 6 of the NLCS. The Indians pitching staff may be good, but none of them are on the same level as Kershaw. The Cubs bats now have a ton of confidence after those last 2 games in the NLCS. Their pitching is solid, and if they can limit the big and timely hits from the Indians, they will score enough to win this series. That’s what I think, what are your predictions?
Happy October!
