The Spring 16 champs Wiz DG played their first game of Season 3 in the NBA 2KLeague yesterday evening. They faced a very good 1-0 Raptors Uprising GC team in their first matchup of the season. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all league games as of right now will be played remotely and games will be Best of 3. Wiz DG took a 1-0 lead in the BO3 series-winning game 1 67-64 as the rookie JBM led the way with 28 points and 6 assists. Raptors Uprising GC took game 2 in a close game with the final score being 66-67 forcing a game 3. District gaming came up short to Raptors uprising in the final game with the final score being 63-73. All in all, I like how the team is looking early on it’s unfortunate that it didn’t come along with the W. But that is only one of many games to be played this season. Seeing a lot of positive things from this team after watching the Spring 16 tournament and the first regular match up of the season. ReeseDaGod looks a lot more aggressive and more confident which is resulting in him getting a lot of good looks I believe this will be his best season yet.
The rookies JBM and JustAwkward are showing promise as well. JBM the new Point Guard was the #1 pick in the Season 3 draft by District Gaming. I think the pick and roll duo of JBM and Dayfri will be difficult for a lot of teams to try and contain this year. JustAwkward was the 2nd player District Gaming selected in the draft. Awkward was on a team called Ascension that went to the finals in the Tournament District gaming had for a spot in the draft pool, his team came up short but he was still chosen for the draft spot. He is a menace on the defensive end and will cause a lot of problems for teams. I’d hate to be a Point Guard on the other team trying to bring the ball up court with him on me.
Newdini the new addition to the team played the PF spot against the Raptors and can knock down that corner 3 when needed and make some plays of the defensive end. Newdini can play multiple positions played a lot of PG this offseason and played lockdown for 76ers GC really liked this pickup. BRICH was the last pick for District Gaming he can also play multiple positions. There is a lot of lineups District Gaming can roll out due to all the multitalented players they selected. I can’t wait to see what this team can do this year.
