Karen Read had a hearing on Friday afternoon for the judge to hear the defense’s motions to dismiss two charges. They wanted the judge to dismiss the second-degree murder charge and leaving the scene of an accident. Jurors have spoken to both the defense and prosecution and voted to acquit Karen of murder but were stuck on lesser charges. They were all drinking and driving that night, but they’re all police officers and know each other. The outsider, Karen, is the one getting dragged because she backed into John’s car when she was going out looking for him.
Karen Read’s hearing on Friday
The judge heard from the new defense attorney, Martin Weinberg, today and basically said that there is enough to dismiss those two charges. The prosecution came back with their rebuttal, and Weinberg was able to answer. However, Judge Cannone didn’t make a decision today and will at a later date and will put out a statement. Why drag this out any longer? The jurors have basically said they were in agreement to acquit her of murder, so what’s the holdup?
In my opinion, the holdup is due to the prosecution, the police, and the judge wanting to ensure Karen Read doesn’t see the light of day so she can’t talk. However, the issue with that is the Free Karen Read movement isn’t going away, and people will be out protesting and will want the real people to be charged.
The Free Karen Read Movement is not going to stop
I notice that nobody talks about the Free Karen Read movement in articles. It’s about rehashing what happened that night. Everyone knows what happened unless you’re living under a rock. What people are questioning is the truth and what’s a lie. The markings on John O’Keefe’s arm don’t match up with someone that’s been hit by a car, period.
The counter-protesters don’t like Turtleboy because he’s a journalist trying to uncover the truth. Where’s the ring footage? Are we supposed to believe that not a single house across the street captured Karen hitting him or the Ford Edge out front when John was placed on the front lawn? It’s suspicious, and I can’t fathom that not one house managed to capture the footage, which also proves to me that she didn’t hit him.
There’s no reason why the judge wouldn’t want to bring the jury back and ask them if they were going to acquit. If it was a fair trial, then you would think the judge would want to hear from the jury about their thoughts and then make a decision based on that. But She decided to take some time and think about it, prolonging the process even further.
