Down to the wire action, convincing wins, and a history-making dream come true summed up Day 3 of Wave II of the Olympic Swimming Trials.
The established and the up incoming did wonders before the same energetic crowd and it also helped that the GOAT Michael Phelps was there to bear witness.
Michael shared about his experience at his first Olympics in 2000 in Sydney as part of a segment devoted to honoring the 2000 team on what would have been the 20th anniversary if not for the pandemic.
He also participated in the medal ceremony by giving the honor to the newest members of the men’s 400 Meter freestyle team Kieran Smith, Townley Haas, Drew Kibler, and Andrew Seliskar.
Speaking of the GOAT, Katie Ledecky did only what Katie Ledecky could do.
He swam away with the 200 Freestyle Semifinal heat and is destined to continue her domination after clinching her spot on the team in the 400-meter freestyle.

Given that she is a 15-time world champion and 5 time Olympic gold medalist, Katie continues her quest for more and attributes her focused and intense drive to those close to her.
“My teammates and my coaches keep me going” she said.
“The goals that I set for myself also keep me going.”
She also spoke about how this past year has been topsy turvy as it was for everybody and how being in the company of fellow teammates such as Simone Manuel kept her training.
The night concluded by watching Michigan’s Jake Mitchell take to the water by himself and he fulfilled his dream by making the cut for the 400-meter freestyle in a thrilling moment that got the fans stoked.
