Waiver Wire Week 10 is a truly bizarre bazaar of superstars back from injury, surprise starters, and gorgeous, recently unearthed, gems. If you grabbed Jaren Hall, mea culpa, but I was right about Sam Howell.
Sadly, in Waiver Wire Week 10, you may be saying goodbye to consistent and excellent RB 2 production, from Jerome Ford and borderline elite, WR 1 production, from Makea “Puka” Nacua, but perhaps a disappointed Davante Lavell Adams or Bijan Robinson manager is ready to deal? Both scenarios are rather unlikely, but if you can make the deal, you must!
Waiver Wire Week 10 Running Backs
Zach Charbonnet, in his last game, produced only 13 total yards on four rushes, for eight yards and a catch, against a rugged Ravens defense. But versus Cleveland, he had 64 total yards on seven touches. Those games were likely his floor. I believe he will see more action in the future.
Tyler Allgeier is still a reliable RB 2, he is averaging 7.8 in .5 PPR, others in that tier include: James Dalvin Cook, Darrell Henderson, Chuba Hubbard, Zaccheus Malik Moss is at holding steady at 8.5 in .5 PPR, as is Jaylen Warren, Kareem Hunt averages 9.6, but he is likely only available in 10 and/or12 team leagues and also we find Khalil Herbert was averaging 9.3 in .5 PPR, when he went on injured reserve he should be added if available.
Dameon Pierce is averaging three yards a carry in 2023. He does average 9.3 yards per catch, Pierce has had 50 rushing yards in a game twice this season. He has one rushing score and is 44th among running backs in PPR points per game. He may have been dropped in some 10 and 12-team leagues. In very deep leagues consideration can be given to Devin Singletary.
My favorite Waiver Week 10 running back, deep league, desperation dart throw, is running back Keaton Anthony Mitchell, of the Baltimore Ravens, when I was watching him at East Carolina I was reminded of Nyheim Hines, but smaller and with better acceleration. Hines first 10 yards of his 40 was 1.52 and Keaton Mitchell clocked a 1.48.
His speed is nearly instantaneous, he is third on the running back depth chart, but last week, he only needed nine touches to produce 138 yards and and one touchdown. It was the first time a Ravens’ running back rushed for 100-plus yards in 2023. He is special but the reason for caution that he only played 13 offensive snaps in one game.
Waiver Wire Week 10 Wide Receivers
Nathaniel “Tank Dell may soon be a consistent must start, at flex, joining his teammate, Nico Collins and since both of them and Adam Thielen, are gone in all but some 10 team leagues. Jordan Addison and Zay Flowers are trade targets, since they are also gone in most leagues, but Romeo Doubs, who is still ranked fourth among the league’s leaders in red-zone targets, has five touchdowns and the Packers’ offensive malaise, has made him available in many leagues.
In deeper leagues, Waiver Wire Week 10 Wide Receivers to consider include: Khalil Shakir who has in the last three games posted 14 targets for 14 receptions, this shows his upward trend, but he only has 19 total targets. He has averaged 12.4 yards per catch on his 18 catches for 224 yards and a score. He tallied 149 combined receiving yards over the past two games.
Jakobi Meyer has 40 targets, 11.1 yards per catch, 442 yards and five touchdowns. Nothing about him is exciting but he is steady. I am very aware that Quentin Johnston was under veritable house arrest, versus the Jets, as he had a paltry two catches for 14 yards and a carry for two yards. The previous week he had 50 yards versus the Bears, I think he will rebound versus a solid, but not elite Lions defense. Several people dropped him so he is available in many leagues.
My deep leagues desperation dart throw, Waiver Wire Week 10 Wide Receiver choice, is the Patriots’ Demario “Pop” Douglas. Against the Commanders Demario Douglas played 53 of a possible 64 snaps (83%), finishing the game with five receptions and his 55 receiving yards lead the way.
Waiver Wire Week 10 Quarterbacks
First of all, those who saw “The Passtronaut” play for Arizona, get traded and five days later throw the game-winning touchdown pass, with just 22 seconds remaining, to Brandon Powell, as the Vikings surprise starter. It felt like a scene from a movie.
If you kept him on your roster, bravo he posted 24.9 in standard scoring leagues, his fourth 20+ week in standard scoring leagues. In a .5 PPR he posted respectable 24.9 points and I would expect him to be right around his average of 17.2 for the rest of the season.
Derrick Deshaun Watson, QB of the Cleveland Browns may be on the cusp of resembling the player for which the Cleveland Browns are paying nearly the gross nation product of Suriname. He coming off of 19 for 30 for 219 yards and two touchdowns. That is just enough to justify optimism, but prior to the acromioclavicular, or AC joint injury, he went 27 out of 33 attempts and 289 yards and two touchdowns, versus the Titans. He looked sharp and if he is headed back to being that, he deserves a roster spot in 16 or more team leagues, as well as super-flex or two QB leagues.
if you snagged Baker Reagan Mayfield, well done! So far the former dual walk-on, Heisman Trophy winner and Browns’ first overall selection, has had a very solid season. He has 12 touchdowns and four interceptions, he has had a passing TD in all but one game and had three versus the Saints. He has passed for 1865 yards at a 64.9% completion percentage.
Waiver Wire Week 10 Tight Ends
In waiver week 10, the pickings are dishearteningly slim, I hope you added Trey McBride, Cade Otton, Dalton Schultz, and Logan Lamont Thomas Sr., when you had the chance. In most leagues, your best options are Geovanni Gerald Rashard Everett if someone dropped him while he was hurt, Tyler Conklin, Hunter Henry, Irv Smith or Waiver Wire Week 10 Tight End desperation dart throws like Daniel George Bellinger or Tanner Hudson.
If I had to choose one as on of the desperation dart throws, I suggest Hudson, he has the most big play and run after the catch upside of any on this list. Hudson was a quarterback and punter, stuck behind Jacob Karam and Paxton Lynch at QB and Tom Hornsey at punter. He transferred to Southern Arkansas, grew from 199 to 239 on his 6’4 ¼” frame and moved to tight end.
He had 10 catches, in 2022, over 11 games with the Giants, for 132 yards and has a Super Bowl ring from his time with the Buccaneers, he even reminds me of Cameron Brate. In deeper leagues he is a worthy of being Waiver Week 10 tight end.
Waiver Wire Week 10 Kickers
Waiver Wire Week 10 placekicker options are mostly familiar faces with a few new names. Nicholas Alexander Folk won me a week in fantasy, as had Younghoe Koo, previously. Dustin Hopkins leads the NFL in 2023 with seven field goals of 50 or more yards and Dallas PK, Brandon Aubrey, is still perfect on field goals, 19 of 19 with a career-long of 58.
Others worthy of adding in a deeper league are Matt Gay and Cameron Dicker as well as Blake Grupe or Brandon Tyler McManus. My top Waiver Wire Week 10 placekicker, deep league desperation dart throw is Jake Daniel Elliott, in the first six weeks of the NFL season the Eagles 22 red-zone trips resulted in ten touchdowns, the last three weeks their red-zone touchdown rate has improved to 71.43%. While the Eagles’ red-zone efficiency means good news for the team, it does reduce Jake Daniel Elliott‘s field goal opportunities.
Waiver Wire Week 10 D/ST
WaiverWire Week 10 provides some real chances to set your team for success. Most of the top defenses are gone. Dallas is often a must-start and they face the Giants! Ouch!! The Jets defense versus the Raiders is a very tempting match-up.
Pittsburgh and the Ravens are usually safe starts. The Browns may struggle versus the Ravens, but afterwards their defense has the Steelers and Broncos. But my sneaky deep league desperation dart throw defense is the Bengals.
Yes, I know Coleridge Bernard Stroud VI just passed for 470 yards and five touchdowns. I am predicting regression to the mean. The Bengals will be bringing a defense that allows 20.3 points per game, and 364 yards per game, but are 13th in sacks per game with 2.8 and tied for fourth in forcing turnovers at 1.9 per game.
They are a risky play but if the top defenses are gone, the Raiders versus the Jets are also an intriguing option. I hope to be able to help you to grasp a double-digit diamond out of the Waiver Wire Week 10 discards pile.
