UFC Vegas 24 Preview:
With Paulo Costa recovering from COVID-19 and unable to compete, the promotion asked middleweight contender Kelvin Gastelum to step up and throw hands on short notice against former 185-pound champion Robert Whittaker.
This fight will potentially determine the next man to get a shot at middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
Whittaker comes into this bout with his sights on a rematch against Israel Adesanya. Since his stoppage loss to Adesanya, Whittaker has maintained his status as a top middleweight, with impressive wins against Darren Till and Jared Cannonier.
Though outclassed by Adesanya, Whittaker picked apart the methodical Till and blasted the formidable Cannonier. If anything, Whittaker is showing more shades in his game than he has at any point of his career and not overextending himself while he neutralizes his opponent’s best weapons.

The latest drama between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier surrounding an unfulfilled donation to Poirier’s charity and the upcoming middleweight bout between Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum.
The Trilogy between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poiririer is a Light Weight bout already scheduled for July 15th – UFC 264.
When the opening betting line in the Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor 3 fight was released, oddsmaker saw a dead heat for the UFC 264.
The even odds come three months after Poirier’s knockout win in their second meeting, which took place at UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi.
The temperature of the lightweight’s rivalry rose earlier this week over a donation promised by Conor McGregor to Dustin Poirier’s charity. Poirier initially claimed McGregor had reneged only to have McGregor lash out over the accounting of the money. Poirier on Wednesday backtracked, apologizing for calling out his opponent.
When they both fought as featherweights, McGregor quickly proved himself the superior fighter against Poirier with a first-round knockout in their first meeting in 2014. Ten pounds heavier, Poirier damaged McGregor’s leg before finishing the fight with a brilliant combination in their rematch.
Poirier had a chance to fight for the lightweight title left vacant by outgoing champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, who defeated he and McGregor. But the Louisianan decided to fight a third bout with McGregor, leaving ex-Bellator champ Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira to fight for the vacant belt at UFC 262.
UFC 264 takes place July 10 at T-Mobile Arena. The promotion has announced full capacity crowd for the event in Las Vegas.
The Rematch between Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal – UFC 261 – on April 24th is a full to capacity sold-out event as well.
Tickets for UFC 261 were snatched up quickly, as UFC President Dana White predicted, and were completely sold out in minutes, making it the fastest in the promotion’s history.

Ever since UFC was able to establish Fight Cards in Abu Dhabi – In Spite of the alarming Covid-19 spreading, it has been leading the way for all professional sports in how to operate and remain subject to health protocols.
Liking or disliking The Promotion’s leadership is irrelevant at this point, the results speak for themselves.
The Combat Sports Fight Club Fan Base, is often brash and unapologetic, so it is an acquired taste.
Pay-Per-View and other promotional outlets basically tried to Price-Out the Combat Sports Fan Base, but at this juncture, you have to admit that UFC is a run-away success.
