Anderson Silva is perhaps stepping inside the Octagon for the final time on Saturday.He will face rugged veteran Uriah Hall in the main event in Vegas.The UFC icon does not think he’s the best to do it but appreciates always being in the conversation.
Anderson Silva is not concerned with where he ranks among the all-time greats.Silva is the favorite vs. Hall in the main event and Bryce Mitchell over Andre Fili co-main event.Silva will be motivated to end his UFC career with a victory and remove the sympathetic hanger-on label.Many feel that he failed to recognize that it was time to call it quits long ago.The 45-year-old Brazilian rose to stardom behind a first-round knockout at UFC 64 in October 2006.His athleticism and skill made him appear invincible at times, and 12 of his 14 title defenses came by stoppage.His historic run came to an end with two memorable stoppage losses in 2013 against Chris Weidman.Silva has since struggled to remain competitive in the UFC. His last fight resulted in a first-round stoppage loss.Uriah Hall is battle-tested and has faced a gauntlet of world-class opponents.While fans would like Silva to go out positively, UFC did not do him any favors by matching him with Hall.
