I was nine years old when Tom Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots. When he won his first Super Bowl in 2001 my dad kept saying “this doesn’t happen every year.” But, it did. Year after year, division title after division title, AFC Championship, after AFC Championship, and six Super Bowl titles in 20 years with the Patriots. Brady deserved what he got Wednesday night in a sold out Gillette Stadium to not only put Tom Brady into the Patriots Hall Of Fame but also retire his number.
Mike Trico hosted and he put it best when he said there are some people that were for the complete Patriots dynasty and some that were only here for the first or second half of the dynasty. I lost my Uncle in the first half of the Dynasty and my grandparents in the second half. But it was very cool growing up watching games with my dad week in and week out.
Tom Brady’s Two Decades Of Winning
For 20 years Tom Brady and the Patriots gave joy to millions and millions of fans across the Country. The Peyton Manning rivalry in the first half was amazing and it’s great they are friends and hang out. It was really cool seeing them on stage together on Wednesday night. Then in the second half of the Dynasty was Patrick Mahomes. That 2018 AFC Championship game was bananas and one of the greatest games of all time.
But, you can’t forget the countless times Brady would pull games from his backside and you go how did they just win that? Whether it was the Falcons Super Bowl, the first Super Bowl against the Rams, the AFC Championship games, the Seattle Super Bowl. It didn’t matter if Brady had the ball at the end you had a chance to win. He would always come through on the worlds biggest stage.
My Favorite Tom Brady Quote
Tom Brady’s words hit home for me Wednesday night. This quote stuck out to me
I wouldn’t have gotten into writing about sports if it wasn’t for the Patriots. I’ve been able to cover events meet some great people and write about the team I love. I also work as a dispatcher at a trucking company and back in 2018 I didn’t know what dispatching was. But I was determined to learn and willing to work for it. My manager Tom Connelly showed me more and more of the dispatch operation and now I can dispatch multiple drivers from Boston to New Jersey.
Now, that the Patriots are in a new era it’s time to look back and get excited of what’s to come. There is a lot that goes into building a team. Not just in football but in everyday life. People working together to get whatever it is to get done for that day. In football it’s for wins and a championship, Brady provided that seven times altogether and six times with the Patriots.
