The Miami Dolphins will travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. Since 1980, only 3.4% of teams to start the season 0-3 have made the playoffs.
Miami, (0-2):
The Dolphins are coming off a 31-28 lost to the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins had high hopes for their highly priced secondary coming into the season. Josh Allen threw for 417 yards and had 4 touchdown passes. Ryan Fitzpatrick passed for 328 yards, 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. The problem with Dolphins is their defense, not the offense. Most fans want Tua Tagovailoa, the rookie quarterback out of Alabama to start. Quarterback play was not the problem on Sunday, it was the Dolphins defense.
Jacksonville (1-1):
The Jaguars traded away their two best players over the past 2 years. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey was shipped off to the Los Angeles Rams last season and Running Back Leonard Fournette is now playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gardner Minshew II has been one of the biggest surprises of the NFL. He is completed 75% of his passes and has 6 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. As a team the Jags are averaging 5.1 yards per rushing attempt. Kellan Cole Sr. and Rookie, Laviska Shenault Jr. have a combined 17 catches and 3 touchdown receptions in 2 games.
Prediction:
Both defenses have struggled early on. The Dolphins are ranked 30th giving up 440.5 yards per game. The Jaguars are giving up 399.5 yards per game, which is ranked 24th. I expect a high scoring game with Minshew leading a late 4th quarter drive. He is the difference in this one.
Take the Jags, 31-27.
