Stephen Curry puts on another masterpiece performance against the Philadelphia 76ers. Curry scored 49 points and willed his Golden State Warriors to a 107-96 win.
Curry has been on a tier in the last 10 games for his Golden State Warriors. He’s averaging almost averaging 40 points while shooting 55% from the field and shooting 49% from the three-point range.
Curry has been the engine and the motor for this Warriors basketball team. The Golden State Warriors improved to (28-29) after tonight’s win over the 76ers.
Curry has also scored 30 plus points in 11 straight games. Curry has joined Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan as the third player to score at least 30 points in 10 or more consecutive games by a player that’s 33 or older.
Curry also his fifth 40- point game in April and topped Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan for most 40-point games in a month by a player 33 or older.
Being in the same conversation with Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan is a huge accomplishment. Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan are two of the greatest players to ever play in the game of basketball in some people’s eyes.
Being linked with those two players in a conversation is something nobody can take from Curry.
Curry buried 3s in the fourth that gave the Warriors a 91- 90 lead and 96-92 to whisk past the top team in the Eastern Conference.
The Curry brothers went head-to-head in the city of brotherly love, and it was a joy to see the brothers battle it out.
Seth Curry had 15 points, and Stephen Curry had 20 points in the first half. Stephen Curry hit a three-pointer over his younger brother Seth at the end of the first quarter.
Despite the 76ers loss tonight, they are still holding the top seed in the Eastern Conference with a (39-18) record.
Joel Embiid finished the game with 28 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal, and one block. Embiid was the only player that scored over 20 points for his team.
Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris were out tonight for the 76ers. Their absence was missed tonight because they had no answer for Steph Curry.
With the presence of Ben Simmons, the outcome may have been different because he’s one of the top candidates for defensive player of the year.
If the 76ers want any chance at winning a Championship, they’re going to have to get better defensively. When your facing teams like the Nets who have players such as Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, you must be able to get stops at crucial times in the playoffs.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr, “What Curry is doing is amazing to watch. Nobody in the history of the game has ever done what he’s doing right now. And I’m talking the full amount of shooting off the dribble, off the screen, running around like a madman when he’s off the ball.”
The Warriors will play their next game at the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
The 76ers will host the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.
